Imagine being a kid and watching this though. Primal died in early April, and this season of _Beast Wars_ started in late October. Nearly *_seven months_* with no Optimus Primal, his death is all that was shown of him in the Season 2 intro. You wouldn't be blamed for thinking that Primal was dead for good. And then this happens, and he comes back in a blaze of glory when the rest of the Maximals are at their darkest hour. The only thing missing is Stan Bush's _The Touch_
@@jaredhamilton425 It’s worth noting that this was _well_ before the “Optimus dies then comes back to life later” thing was an actual thing. Literally nobody would be blamed for thinking that Optimus’ death was the final one. After all, _Beast Wars_ was so different compared to the original cartoon. Who knew if Optimus was staying dead or not?
@@dudebladeX well I mean, suspense in general, cliffhangers like this just aren’t around anymore because all the new episodes basically get dropped all at once and practically every show in existence is now easy to find in some way because of the internet and all the streaming services like Netflix and Prime.
@@jaredhamilton425Here’s my theory. Optimus Primal never died. He just got sent through the time stream to the era of Beast Wars II, where he helped Lio Convoy defeat Megazarak before returning to his own time. This explains why Rhinox couldn’t find Primal’s spark in Coming of the Fuzors.
Just one if many _many_ moments in the franchise’s history that call for The Touch that don’t have it. I mean, one of the best parts of the new comics have Optimus 1v1 Devastator and said issue has a blatant cue for it “You Know The Song”
The return of Optimus is meant to be the highlight here, but for me nothing in BW visually beats the Predacon slow walk, spurs clinking and guns spinning.
Same here. Even Waspinator looks badass during it. You feel like Megatron's posse should all be wearing black cowboy hats for this sequence, but that might've been taking it too far.
In MY opinion, NO darn Predacon shall EVER beat Optimus Primal, even though he's Optimus Prime's younger brother. And like he said in Transformers: Earth Wars, Optimus Primal did go round the block with the Matrix, so I guess he qualifies as a Prime, just like his big brother, Optimus Prime. And like Optimus Primal always says, "Well, that's just Prime." THAT'S what one of his prized students Crown Princess Elena Flores of Avalor always says as well, since SHE recently became a Human Prime, just like her BFF Queen Elsa Brown (from the movie "Frozen").
I also like the scene earlier before the preds attack while they're gathering... Megaton pulls out a futuristic watch counting the movement of the sun while each of predacons arrive to attack.
I had transmetal Optimus primal toy it was fun to play with when I was a kid. One of my friends had t-rex megatron and scorponoc it they were cool especially since megatron if I remember correctly had a water squirter were it would blast from the T-Rex mouth if I remembering right
I won't lie. I was a young 80s kid when the first Optimus Prime died in 1986 in Transformers The Movie traumatized me. Seeing Optimus Primal die and then come back and deliver his line....I cried in joy.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 Agreed. Sadly.....pretty much all of todays cartoons are trash. Last good Transformers cartoon was Transformers Prime. While not as good as Beast Wars it still offered a good story and characters and was enjoyable. The Transformers cartoons that came after it.....total trash on every single level.

You don't need to be pedantic on this. Why don't you provide an example of a recent cartoon that you think is good instead of trying to start arguments over technicalities?
Cheo Wesley Me too.This show is freaking awesome plus it,s just fun.Yes,the animation can be improved but who cares,this show is so much and alot of fun to watch.I prefer this show over the dissapointing Transformers RID 2015 anyday,anytime and anywhere.

I remember screaming in excitement like YES YES YES OPTIMUS!!! as a kid. His return really end up epic. I mean come on, u saw him die from that explosion in space, then he comes bac!!
This series is just classic through it's writing, voice acting and characterisation. There's tons of memorable stuff, just remember when Netflix botches Kingdoms with their non union icky VAs and hacks like Brandon Easton writing it, this is still here.
Funny little extra bit of symbolism here. The Predacons are reveling in Cowboy and western tropes (Thanks Quickstrike) but SIlverbolt draws on Native American imagery in his Robot Mode. It makes for a nice bit of thematic weight when he switches to the good guys.
I enjoyed this whole western feel I mean come on how could you not both inferno and optimus have a duel type thing where they take there time drawing weapons
Transmetal Optimus primal was my favorite transformer toy ans that is why Transmetal Optimus is my favorite optimus primal form. Although all three optimus primal forms are cool.
My opinion: the best version of Optimus primal. Even better than Optimal Optimus look. I like the robot mode and the beast mode as well. The vehicle mode is amazing: a shining blue gorilla surfer 😂😂 I'ts a shame. We had just a few episodes with this form. Perfect entrace: "well that's just prime!"
He was caught off guard by Silverbolts attack and wasnt in beast mode (the only mode in which he could fly). He probably adapted quick enough to save himself before he hit the ground.
How many of you had a bunch of these toys as a kid, and got so god at transforming them that you could do each of them without looking at the instructions?
Their ship had an armory, which contained riot shields and extra guns/weapons. Though rarely seen, the shields were used multiple times throughout the series.
I'm pretty sure if they ever make a masterpiece figure of that version of him it will probably include it after all the Masterpiece line is known for including parts that either the character Barely Used or only used once like with Beast Wars Megatron toothbrush
From the white smoke onwards the music just goes into one, who ever did that was having great fun. Soon as it goes my turn and gets his turret guns out music goes insane and quite right.
Somethings about this scene hit me as an adult that I didn't quite catch as a kid #1, prior to this scene we see Silverbolt wake up from the CR Chamber and he must have filled Optimus in on what was going on when he left his stasis pod #2 Optimus says to hell with a door and blows a whole in the Axalon because of the urgency of the situation #3 though we the viewer knew who it was, we still couldn't see it because the smoke hadn't cleared, but the combatants all could see who it was and the difference in their reactions was everything, Megatron and the Predacons are all like "oh fuck" while the Maximals all breathed the biggest relief, especially Cheetor, him snapping to stand up despite not being able to stand earlier from fighting all night was just, well Prime.
Spaghetti Western scene in a tv Saturday morning cartoon show in which monkeys and insects turn into alien warrior robots, BTW the original idea is from Japanese originated toy line.
@@ff3playeri'm pretty certain that was badass too, however Optimal Optimus wasn't used as much as he could and instead was usually knocked out so he wouldn't just break all of the Predacons in half, damn, on Feral Scream part 1 and 2 he was knocked out just so Cheetor could have his moment Like i said, he had his moments but not as many as Transmetal Optimus Primal
