I really enjoy showing off these amazing things created by the Starbound community. If you have an amazing build you would like for me to show in this series, please contact me on Reddit or join my discord server and contact me there. I am always looking for new stuff to show in these videos.
My Frozen biome has a planetary road, hangers, underground system, bulk heads, lot of work on it, but I don't feel its done yet. I even built ships over the city itself. I just motivated myself to keep adding.
So Happy to see my build, I've been excited to see it done though I can understand not being able to spend infinite time on it still sad to not see all, also looks like the mechs, protectorate blocks and some minor decoration didn't spawn
Absolutely amazing. Love the secret guard switch in the treasure room. How many months has it taken to build this? Something like this needs to be preserved in a gaming museum.
That's actually not too bad. I always feel guilty when I put 1,000+ hours into a game. The work you do in a game is so ephemeral and I start thinking I could have done something "productive" like learning a foreign or programming language with that time.
+copester1204 It's all about entertainment, mah dude. If you spent those 1000+ hours having fun, whether that be learning a language or no lifing a game, that's all that matters. If you spent a ton of time hating learning a language, was that time REALLY well spent? Probably not. As long as what you're doing brings you contentment, it's worth doing (as long as you're staying healthy too, since that means you live longer, giving you more time to do the things you love). Like for example, I have 1900 hours in Terraria. Do i regret that? Hell no. I have game files after game files of stuff to look back at and say "You know what? I had a blast doing that" and really that's what matters. Being able to look back fondly
I'm on temp Hiatus but I do still work on the project and plan to release new version, there is a google doc link of an older version on my Chucklefish page, community.playstarbound.com/threads/want-feedback-on-my-wip-underground-city-elysia.129212/page-4
The size of the colony and amount of hoard is impressive, around double the size of mine... though, i would rather pride myself on my attention to detail, quality and wiring systems. (I'd love to show my colony but it's half-done :P) That's a really big con on this build imo, the simple rooms/backgrounds *Looks at the Protectorate Room made out of dirt* and the unnecessary placement of turrets and doors...
Kyo 21943 I agree there are quite large clusters of doors and turrets. If the turrets were more spread out and there weren't clusters of three doors in some places. Who really needs three doors, unless it's guarding something important.
the doors are also more instantaneous when the lag isn't so bad so they double as the airlocks they're suppose to look like, for keeping out lava flow, and the turrets are only clustered tightly up on the surface where there are phasing fire mobs that I didn't want to deal with
+Paradox1Kitsune Let's try not to criticize the build and focus more on how much work and time was put into it. These videos are made to show love to the starbound community and those who put time and effort into making creative and amazing things.
I'm working on a build that's a big castle settlement do-hicky, and it's gonna have a lot of stuff. It's nowhere near completed right now, but if you want I could try to speed things up.
I am planning to make an extremely massive build once starbound comes to the Xbox one. I plan for it to take advantage of the 1.3 update (assuming you are actually able to build in space like you speculated.) I plan for it to take place across planets and it to tell a story where you would fight enemies and bosses. It would take months possibly and it would depend on if you have an Xbox one, but if I am going to invest that long in a build, I would like it to be in a RU-vid video, wether it's your video or mine.
Rafael Carvalho Not if you have multiple people working on it and this build is over excessively concentrated in one area with many decorations. And console may not initially have command support but could have it added. Many other games do and it works just fine so it is not a far stretch for them to add it on console.
Hi Firespark! How do you manage to download a custom map into your game? I've been looking in google but it seems i cant find any usefull guide. Thx for reading this
All you have to do is replace your storage folder with a different one. Mainly you just need the universe folder if you know where the planet is. But it is easier if the person already has teleports to the spot you are looking for.
So true, yesterday i saw some bugs were fixed. so i started a new play trough. within half an hour i lost a weapon i found. just gone from my inventory. i thought i might have dropped it by accident. but then the basic starter sword disapeared so i had no weapon to defend myself... Stuff like that makes me quit the game every time, although it looks so awesome once u get a high level character.
I built a foundry if you want to see it, it's not that big but it's cozy. Currently though I'm trying to drain the lava from it after my friend spawned 100000000 lava...
i have project too but not so big just a big underwater city covering the all planet in full legit ( for just one thing have been create in admin mod) and i use mod
I made a small moded avali colony /secret lab had a descent tower inspired by the towers in the background of the intro hope the next up date doesn't delete it :/
+Dj Thomas it's easy have you watched my backup restore and mod starbound video? I just need your storage folder. Go watch the video you'll understand. You should join my discord and send me some pics of the build.
