Does anyone else feel that the pattern recognition questions are sort of ridiculous? Like they seem so arbitrary and too vague. I don't know, maybe im being dramatic, but they feel sort of unfair.

As alex said it will be d 390 because of it is divisble by 3. However there is another pattren in It but since the options are not there its not right answer. But the pattren is 129/3=43-1=42 which is top number now 42/3=14 -2 = 12 so it can be 12/3=4 -3=1.😊
@deannaneal5603

The number 12, 42 and 129 are all multiples of 3. The answers only have 1 number that is a multiple of 3 and that's 390.
@alexnovik

An almost pattern match solution for the Triangle pattern Triangle 1: 3x2=6, 6x2-12, 12-1=11 Triangle 2: 7x4 =28, 28x2=56, 56-5=51 Triangle 3: 11x6=66, 66x2=, 132-5=127 Triangle 4: 15x8=120, 120x2=, 240-7=233

For Triangle: multiply top triangle with bottom left triangle, multiply bottom left triangle with middle triangle, finally add the products along with the top triangle. The result is the bottom right triangle.
@tiananoll3300
@tiananoll3300 4 месяца назад
solved the triangles question by adding left number and top number, and multiplying it by 2, then subtracting the middle number. so 3*2=6, 6*2=12, 12-1=11(bottom right). 7*4=28, 28*2=56,56-3=53(bottom right). if you continue pattern, you get 233

a MUCH easier way to solve problem #1 is to multiply the top and left corners, double that number, and subtract the middle number from that total number.

In the question of finding missing number in 4 squares. I found that the 1st column is not relevant and only difference of 4 exist between column 2 and 3 so it was quick.
@CarolineFarrell-v3i
@CarolineFarrell-v3i Год назад
For the four square triangle, I added up the colored numbers in each triangle. You get 16, 64, 256. Then I took the sqaure root of each of those: 4, 8, 12. (They are increasing by 4.) So for the last triangle I squared 16 to get 256, and knew that the colored outside numbers needed to add up to 256. 8 + 15 + ? = 256, so the answer is 233. So I did use the colors to help me think about it and could the different colors be hinting to look for patterns within a triangle and not across triangles?

The one at 12:35 looks tough. Multiply the previous (left) figure by 3 and add an element {6,3,0} when moving clockwise. That is, 3 x 12 + 6 = 42, then 42 x 3 +3 = 129 and 129 x 3 + 0 = 387.
@allen_the_king40848
@allen_the_king40848 Год назад
That was my thought process too. But since 387 wasnt an answer choice, I just picked 390 since all of the side numbers were divisible by the center number, 3.

@@allen_the_king40848 Good catch! You solution is definitely correct. My approach was too complicated ; -)
@Mygmailcom-ki5td
@Mygmailcom-ki5td 10 месяцев назад
no, it is you should add 3 the 1 which is first number in "12", so you got "42". The next - 42* 3 = 126+3=129, and final 129*3+3=390
@amakaonwuneme7701

For the first question.: 15X8= 120, 15x 7= 105. Add both, 120 + 105= 225. Then add the top number. 225 +8=233. Works will all the triangles. So many ways to solve these !
@garrettmanaster1137

Multiply bottom left number by top number then by 2. Subtract middle number. So interesting there are many strategies that work!
@VRPranks

I got the triangle one by adding 42 to get the 53, then adding 74 to get 127 so I added 106 to 127 and then got 233
@crazygrl109
@crazygrl109 Год назад
Another way to solve the triangle pattern is the look at the pattern between the bottom right numbers. 11 - 53 = 42 // 53 - 127 = 74 // 42 - 74 = 32 + 4 (difference between the bottom left triangles = 36 // so add 36 to 74 to get the new number (106) to add to 127 // 127 + 106 = 233

Wow. So I started off with the left to right pattern: 12 squared = 144 minus 15 (12+3) = 129. That pattern did not obviously work for the top down from 42... I see the 390 and the logic behind it now.😅
