After seeing this reaction, I realized it's not really that clear. Telemachus' singer sounds a lot like Odysseus (I thought it was Jorge singing until my friend who I was watching it with told me it wasn't lmao), and when they're talking about his mother and her husband, it could be confused as Ody's mother and father, and it could be interpreted as taking place when Ody was younger. Though there are some parts that should make you question it, like when Athena shows up and how surprised he is, since Ody and Athena met when he was a kid, and she'd been watching over him since, so it doesn't make sense that Odysseus would act as if it's the first time they met. Another part is when Athena mentions how "his son's my friend" to Ares in God Games, though ig it could be taken as "oh yeah Athena has been with Ody for so long and considers his kid her friend as well." If I hadn't watched Jorge's livestream, which included animatics, (and if I hadn't watched it with a friend who follows everything) I'm not sure I would've gotten it immediately.

This newest Saga is kind of told out of order, timeline wise. After Thunder Bringer, Odysseus washes up on the island of Calypso, Ogygia. Ogygia sort of exists outside of the known world. So, while there, Odysseus is hidden from the sight of gods that would be looking for him like Athena. For the next 7 years, Odysseus is trapped on Ogygia with Calypso, forcing herself on him not taking no for an answer. That's the song Love in Paradise. Meanwhile, Odysseus' son Telemachus is on Ithica dealing with the suitors who are trying to marry/rape Penelope, he gets into a fight with the leader of the suitors and Athena comes to him to assist and repent for her abandonment of Odysseus. The songs Legendary, Little Wolf, and We'll be Fine. After We'll be Fine, Athena goes looking for Odysseus finally seeing him when he calls her name at the end of Love in Paradise. Athena then goes to plead with Zeus to free Ody from Ogygia and Calypso's grasp. The song God Games.

Everything Odysseus has been through before this saga actually happened, it's not just in his head. Ody washes up on Calypso's island after the events of the Thunder Saga; here's a significant time jump (seven years) in the middle of "Love in Paradise"; that's why the first song says it's been 20 years since Odysseus left home (first for the 10-year war that happened before the Troy Saga, then everything else in Epic).

Dave I know people have already said it that its Telemachus singing in the first three songs so for extra clarification, after Thunder Bringer, 7 years have passed and we now get a 20 year old Telemachus trying to keep Penelopes suitors away but they are being persistent since there are 108 of them and the one who fought Telemachus was Antonius. During those 7 years we find out its because Odysseus has been trapped on Calypsos island and ending with Athena pleading for his freedom which will lead into the second to last saga, the vengeance saga. Also for a little fun fact, Jorge got both of his parents to be in the musical. With his mother being Odysseus's mother in the underworld saga, his father voiced Hephaestus in God Games since he built the sound booth Jorge uses for Epic.

Things: Apollo is also the god of Music. Some variations of the story of Orpheus' story says Orpheus is his son much like Heracles son of Zeus. Where Heracles was all muscles and strength, Orpheus was music and the vibes of the world. Which is why his music moved people so much. (Orpheus, for those who don't know, isn't involved in Epic and is a different Greek legend. Look up Hadestown for a great musical rendition for his story) Second thing was Hera vs Athena, Athena pointing out that Odysseus doesn't cheat on his wife convinced Hera because everyone knows Zeus is a dog and cheats on Hera all the time. So when Athena has to convince him, he isn't listening and he just shocks the crap out of his daughter Athena for pointing out he cheats on his wife. Additional note: Athena and Hera are not related. She sprung from Zeus' head into existence. She has one parent and it's Zeus.

Just a bit on Athena: Zeus isn't her only parent. Before Zeus married Hera he had at least two previous wives (not sure about the second), the first of which was Athena's mother. During the Titanomachy (war between Olympian gods and Titans) Zeus was helped by a nymph/minor goddess of thought called Metis (she gave him the plan to have Kronos throw up his siblings amoung others). After Zeus won the war and became king of the gods he married Metis. When she was pregnant Zeus got a prophesy that if she had a son, that son would overthrow him; so he swallowed her and she became basically a niggling thought of better-nature, which averted the prophecy. But Metis gave birth to Athena within Zeus, Metis made her her armour and spear, and Athen grew inside him. Eventually Athena was ready to become a proper Olympian and basically caused Zeus the mother of all headaches by banging against the inside of his skull. The pain was so bad that Zeus had Hephestus crack open his head with an Awl, and Athena sprung out (Zeus healed right after).

I’m pretty sure the first three songs are about Odyssey’s son. While the last love paradise is about Ody being trapped for 7 years and I think he was also sa’d many time and the last song is about Athena trying to convince the gods to free Ody. Also Apollo is also the God of music hence his connection to the sirens

Here’s an explanation about the timeline 😂 -legendary: this isn’t ody. Instead we switch views to his son, Telemachus, 7-10 (?) years after thunder bringer. -little wolf: telemuchaus fights a guy named antinuse (spelled wrong I’m sorry) -we’ll be fine: tele convinces Athena to go help ody Love in paradise: Athena goes through ody’s memory’s to find out where he is, which is why we get that scene with calypso God games: after finding all this out Athena goes to the gods and fights to get help for ody.

Another point regarding Ares. Everyone pointed out it was Telemachus in the first 3 songs meaning the mother their referring to is ody’s WIFE. The suitors are clearly disrespectful of Penelope, at least behind her back if not to her face. They’re also cruel to his son, “little wolf” along with the animatic from the livestream show his treatment and it’s not pretty. Considering how much he loves his wife and son, the destruction he’ll bring to the 108 men treating them in such a way will be intense. This whole situation is going to end in a lot of bloodshed. The prophet even said so, “I see your palace covered in red.” No way Ares wouldn’t want to see that, for that matter Aphrodite also would likely support him saving his family as an act of love.

You were asking about Apollo earlier and why he'd care about the sirens if he's the sun god. Well for one, he's actually the god of a lot of things, music, archery, and medicine are prime examples. And 2, he's actually not the sun god in this context. During Ancient Greece, Helios was the sun god, but much later on, when the Romans had their gods, Apollo at some point replaced Sol (Roman name for Helios) as the Sun god. Fun fact: Apollo is the only Olympian god whose name doesn't change between Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire

There's a lot of comments, so I'm not sure if people said this or not yet. 1. Athena takes Aphrodite into quick thought to try and have more time to convince her but is interrupted by Ares 2. Athena brought the "never once has he cheated on his wife" thing to Hera because Zeus. Enough Said. 3. Hephaestus is sung by Jorge's dad. 4. Telemachus says he dreams and spends most of his time imagining his dad and his father's story, and a lot of them are the battles Ody actually fought. 5. When Telemachus says, "Give me a sign," in Legendary Athena's piano melody can be heard. 6. When Athena sings with Telemachus, she does Ody's AAAAaaaaAAAAaaaAaaa even though in last goodbye, she ends with her original aaaaaaa melody (idk if that makes sense sorry) 7. When Athena says he'll make everybody bleed, he means the suitors, the guys going "oooooh" at the end of Legendary, and back up singers in Little Wolf. 8. Cause I gotta end on an even number; In the Animatic, Telemachus and Ody's dog are walking together in Legendary, and because the dog is so old he has to stop to take multiple breaks, another symbol of Ody's loved ones loyalty, as well as how much time has passed Sorry for long comment, just wanted to add something, but literally everybody has already yelled at you about the Telemachus thing already, lol.

The voices that you hear when Odysseus gets suicidal Polities (pol-it-tees) on your left, his second in command Eurylochus on your right, and his Mom in the middle. They get triggered by Calypso saying, "Ody" which Eurylochus calls him in the song "Mutiny", "I'll stay inside inside your heart" which is similar to what we hear his Mom say in "The Underworld", and "open arms" which always triggers Polities in Odysseus's head. Also, in the first three songs, it's Odysseus's son, Telemachus, who's singing. The other male voice in "Legendary" and "Little Wolf" is Antinous, who is one of the suiters. And Telemachus's Mom, who he talks about, is Penelope. For God Games: Apollo at the time frame that God Games is set, he is not the god of the sun, that's Helios (a common misconception, because google and other search platforms go off what it is now, which is Apollo, not the time period of when the Oddesey and Jorges music takes place.) Je is the god of Music (thats his main one, he has about a gazillion.) He also has no issues with Odysseus or Athena, so he really didn't have an argument for her that was a hard one. Hephaestus is played by Jorge's Dad. When you hear the explosion sound, that's Zues knocking Athena unconscious. Ares (Her half brother, same Dad) is the one who asks if Athena is dead. The music overture in the live stream has a flash back of Athena holding Baby Telemachus. Then when the music changes from "Warrior of the Mind" to "Legendary" she gets up and fights Zues's lightning blasts which in the end might of ended up killing her, Jorge wasn't exactly clear. It's ok that you didn't get the timeline or the people fully right. It took me a while to figure it out, too. I hope this comment helps a little!

During the song Love in Paradise, Athena who was convinced by Telemicus to go looking for Odi. All is okay! I'm sure you've gotten plenty of explanations already, but the first song in the Wisdom Saga follows Telemachus, (Odysseus's son), singing about how he isn't sure whether his father, (Odysseus), is still alive anymore, but growing up hearing all these stories of him and his strength. So he sings about wanting to be strong like him, to be legendary if it means 'finding' his father if through being like him. Plus, he wants to keep Penelope, (his mother), safe from the suitors that are vying for her hand in order to become king. Also, the man insulting Penelope to Telemachus is Antinous, one of the most dangerous and confident men of the suitors looking to become the new king. It is said that 20 years have passed with no King. Odysseus left for war for twelve years, another year at sea (I think?), and seven years with Calypso as later revealed in Love in Paradise. In the second song of the saga, Antinous is telling Telemachus to stand up and fight if he, (Telemachus), thinks he can talk back and stand up to him. As he fights with Telemachus, Athena intervenes, appearing to Telemachus. Making his thoughts quick, Athena guided him through the fight, ensuring he didn't end up dead and stand his ground - even if he still lost the fight in the end. She'd helped because as she said, she doesn't respect people who enforce will upon others like Antinous and the suitors were doing. Also, it is suggested that Athena had been watching him, (Telemachus). Think similar to how Athena had watched Odysseus before appearing to him. The third song, Athena explains to Telemachus that she had a friend he reminded her of, (Odysseus). She never explicitly reveals who that friend was to Telemachus. However, she expresses her doubt of what happened between her leadership of Odysseus and the entire fight between them. And of course, Telemachus expresses that he appreciated her help and would consider her his friend, if not her ex-friend, (Odysseus). The fourth song starts out as Athena deciding to finally check on Odysseus after ten years. (Ten years had passed since their fight. So right after helping Telemachus, she makes the decision to see where he is.) The clock ticking in the background singals the time she looked through to see what Odysseus had been doing since their fight. After the vision of the end of the Thunder Saga, she loses sight of him, asking where he went. The song then cuts to Odysseus's point of view - specifically the moment he wakes up, having washed up on the shore of Calypso's island following the events during Thunder Bringer. Calypso is a goddess, a nymph who was banished to the island for reasons with other gods. Thus, when a man finally washes up, she attempts to tempt him and use her power to keep Odysseus there. She traps him for seven years. The song cuts to the present when it shifts into the part where Calypso finds Odysseus on the ledge. Seven years with her had passed, and he's still haunted by his past and the longing for home and his wife. The final song of the saga follows Athena going to Zeus for help in setting Odysseus free from Calypso and help to allow him to get home. Zeus makes it a game, challenging her to convince five different gods/goddesses that Odysseus should be released. The gods/goddesses were named: Apollo, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares, and Hera. 1. Apollo: Apollo is the god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light, poetry, and more. Specifically in EPIC: The Musical, he is upset with Odysseus for killing sirens. This is because he's god of music. Sirens sing and are known for their beautiful voices and songs. Athena argues that Odysseus only defended himself and that the sirens would now be smarter and be more cautious, thus being able to live to sing by learning the lesson to be more careful. 2. Hephaestus: Hephaestus is the god of fire, volcanoes, forges, and blacksmithing. He doesn't stand in support of Odysseus because Odysseus had betrayed his men and sacrificed all of his men. Athena argues that the men betrayed Odysseus first and brought it upon themselves. And she mentions that if Hephaestus makes the decision to release him as well, Odysseus would be able to build a future with those who miss and trust him. 3. Aphrodite: Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. She was upset with Odysseus because while Odysseus was getting lost in spiting the Cyclops and not doing what he should've to get home, his mother died waiting. (As sang in The Underworld Saga). She viewed the situation as Odysseus not really loving his mother if he would let her die heartbroken that he was still not home. Athena argues, but is interrupted by Ares. Though she soon returns to argue with Aphrodite that a broken heart can mend, begging her to reconsider. 4. Ares: Ares is the god of war and courage, so he was angry that Odysseus didn't even attempt to be courageous and risk things to fight Scylla, instead being a 'coward' and letting his men die. He brings up how Odysseus tends to use trickery and be sly with solutions, such as the Trojan Horse in order to win a war instead of being 'courageous' and facing it head on. Athena argues with him that Odysseus would make everyone bleed just to get home to Penelope. (Reference to how Odysseus has learned to be ruthless). This is also reference to how in the Ithaca Saga, Odysseus will kill the suitors for vying after Penelope and his throne. 5. Hera: Hera is the goddess of marriage, women, family, and childbirth. She simply doesn't stand with Odysseus because there are all types of stories. She doesn't hold heroes or minor gods in high esteem, especially since Zeus, her husband, has gotten involved with all kinds of heroes and such. Therefore, she doesn't trust Odysseus or the stories she hears. To her, his story is just another tragedy like countless other heroes Zeus has bothered. Athena argues that Odysseus, unlike Zeus, never once cheated on his wife, Penelope, despite the temptations he's faced. 6. Zeus: Zeus is the King of the gods, the sky, thunder, lightning, law, and order. He doesn't take kindly to being showed up and put to shame, especially by his daughter, Athena. So, he strikes her down with lightning. The saga ends with Ares asking if Athena was dead. (This would be significant, as they are siblings in mythology). Athena begs Zeus to release Odysseus in her 'last words'. In Jorge's livestream, an animatic is shown where the light leaves her eyes and she goes still after those final words. (Though I'm unsure if she is truly dead, as Calypso has even stated goddess's can't die. Of course, maybe there would be an exception considering Zeus's status. Regardless). Sorry for the ramble, lol. Seriously, I adore your EPIC: The Musical reactions! Can't wait to see you react to animatics!

I know you probably got the info given to you already a ton of times considering how late I am but I just had to get it out of my system because if I don't I'll have to pester my friends instead and they're busy Anyways This Saga took place 7 years after Thunder Bringer, 20 years after Ody went to war To explain the timeline essentially War starts - Year 0 Ward Ends (Horse and the infant) - end of year 12 Troy Saga - Thunder Saga - took place in the 13th year First 3 songs are Telemachus' introduction to us, the first song essentially sets up who he is as a person, second song to set the struggle he goes through and the third one is to fully establish his relationship with Athena Athena during the 8 years being away from Ody regretted her decision but considering they broke it off on such a negative note she decided to first help his son to maybe quell her guilt which seeing how similar the fruit is to the tree she decided to look at how Ody's been the past 8 years (I say 8 years because she went away pretty early on so I'm assuming its at the start of the 13th year so I'll just say 8) She essentially looked back to after they broke off and saw how fucked up the one year is but it stopped after thunder bringer which is why she asked him where he is now in the 4th song starting the 7 years of him stuck with Calypso whether he was trapped, wooed or put under a spell I'm not sure because this is all the context I gathered from the Album not the original story so some errors are due Somewhere around the end of the 7 years, so around the same time as the first 3 songs of the Saga and probably exactly during the 4th song, maybe its a bit in the past but similar time frame but during that time the demons inside him really took a toll and knowing the futility of it all Ody just wanted to end it all, he can't reach his goal and he's effectively imprisoned (Also as a note Calypso sounded really genuine when talking to Ody as if she's not trying to contain him but she genuinely loves him so maybe in this version he's just stuck on the island which makes it sad for Calypso because she's loving a man who will never truly love her, and Ody is a stronger man than I am because I would have folded and cried in Calypso's arm if I went through what he did like holy shit dude) Athena wanting to mend their relationship and help her old friend decided to go to her father and you know what happened, also just to say that calling Aphrodite and Ares lovers in front of her husband is wild as shit, Heph is right there and you're just openly saying how Aphrodite is more associated with Ares when considering her lover despite her being married to Heph, I guess it fits with Aphrodite's status of being the female Zeus And one last thing, Apollo is the god of the sun yes but he's also the god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, poetry, and more, point is he's a funky and bright musical archer poet, Sirens are famous for their singing and their alluring songs so as Apollo said when the sirens died there's less song in the world and he doesn't like that Anyways I do apologize for assaulting you with a wall of text but hope this helps anyone that's still confused and that I compiled most things that needed clearing up

23:20 Apollo isn’t just the god of the Sun. In Greek myth, he had other spheres of control outside of that: oracles, healing, archery, *MUSIC* and arts, light, knowledge, herds and flocks, and protection of the young all fell under his dominions of control. The Sirens are famously known for the voices of song and melody, so of course he would care such beautiful singers were killed.
