A match fitting of a final! 2 teams going out there trying to win it rather than trying not to lose it. The URC has been outstanding this season...none moreso than in a dramatic final at Loftus Versfeld.
Thanks ma man, and have to say as a somewhat long-suffering Scottish rugby fan appreciate the comments on here from Saffers/Irish /English (and the rest)! 🙏
Bulls fan. Hats off Glasgow, it was a cauldron tonight at Loftus and they stood firm, to beat Leinster, Munster, Bulls and Stormers in one season takes some doing! Congratulations!
Munster thought they had the tournament won after getting the 1 seed and bulls thought they had it won after getting a home final . Glasgow had other ideas .
@@eoin8156 seriously! Even I thought bulls were gonna win a tough but dominant game. Thought with the travel and the huge Munster game, they wouldn’t be able to replicate it. But good for them. What a game.
Very well done to Glasgow. Fully deserved. Unlucky Bulls, great fight by them. Great league. Munster supporter here. Also, I must say, some people might say bad things about the SA supporters but a huge thank you to the SA teams in the URC to really improve our league. Keep the performances going and let's keep the rivalry going also. You guys bright so much to this league. Thanks
What a win for Glasgow. Fair play to them, they totally deserved it. 13-0 down and then dominating the second half. So much for the altitude. The Bulls looked more out on their feet than the Warriors.
As a Bulls fan I feel gutted, but full credit to Glasgow. They were definitely the better team on the day and played fantastic rugby. Their defence was simply too good for the Bulls and they fully deserve this win. Well done.
Credit has to be given Glasgow. They travelled for all there playoff games. And knocked the Bulls at Loftus. Thats impressive to say the least. Well deserved winners.
As a bulls fan im gutted but well done to Glasgow, deserved champoins, intense game, my nerves went through the roof Franco is defenitely going to be the next scotland coach,
Fabulous end to the best championship in the world at the moment, the URC. Warriors are Kings….How did we not see it coming….especially after Munster last year. Just fantastic
So stoked for Glasgow. Hoping this winning mentality transfers into the national side. Glasgow were gritty and just seemed to make good decisions at the right times.
I really wasn’t expecting much from Glasgow in the play-offs to be honest, especially after a few missed opportunities towards the end of the season. Could not be more delighted at how things turned out - superb performance (especially in the second half), amazing endurance to keep up the levels for 80 minutes at altitude, and ultimately the deserved winners! Next year, all we need is to top the league and bring the final to Murrayfield 🤞 Roll on the Top 14 finals next week: still a real chance of Scottish hands on a third big trophy of the season, which would be a beautiful thing indeed 🏴
Wow!! What a game! I am 100% warriors fan and totally over the moon with the result! but hats off to the Bulls, the fans, the stadium looked amazing, the show, the spectical! Hyped it to the max and it was then transferred to the game! End to end - both teams playing to win! Sometimes finals are cagey and dull, and I wondered if the semis were going to be the best games but full credit to both teams- they came and they played their heart's out and provided all rugby fans an amazing piece of sporting histroy to enjoy. The URC is turning into an amazing tournament, with no set outcomes, teams up for it, and giving us amazing rugby. From Glasow to Scotland, we need the Glasgow belief in Scotland shirts! You had a challenging route to the final, but no complaining or moaning. Heads up and get on with the Job! Again, buzzing, congrats Glasgow, thank you, Bulls, for an awesome game and stadium..
Happy for Glasgow... was a very tough defense and game.. now for Boks vs Ireland.. can't wait. Hopefully a hard game with both teams rocking up well.. go Bokke.
First up, got to say I love the channel but congratulations, you've done it again! Cursed Glasgows opposition by picking them over the Warriors. It was a brilliant game and I was on the edge of my seat all the way through. Well done Glasgow!
🇿🇦 Yup, the better team won. Congrats Glasgow. Massive defense and proper execution. We've now had a South African, then Irish and now a Scottish winner. The URC is becoming a fantastic comp.
Being English I didn't have a dog in the fight but enjoyed it massively, hats off to Glasgow, Munster away victory, and then taking it to the Bulls at Loftus they are well deserved champions, I was thinking they would try to get ahead early on and pressure the Bulls as I thought the altitude would affect them late in the game but instead they went in at half time trailing and I thought they were done, truth be told the second half was all them and they looked like the home team, great end to the competition and hopefully it will put an end to people grumbling about SA teams in the URC, before they joined the URC I would probably watch a couple of games but my viewing has gone way up with the SA teams in the mix, long may it continue if it serves up games like that.
From a South African, Glasgow was definitely brave, Bulls looked flat in the second half, but even more worrying is a lack of a plan for the situation towards the end of the game. This feels like dejavu the Bulls had a similar game in the year, where they twice went for a driving maul, and the second one was held up similar to tonight. The Bulls did not risk it for the win, very predictable, hats off to Glasgow.
This time last week I was gutted as a Leinster fan, but I’m genuinely delighted for Glasgow, They played like Champions, fair play Glasgow, what a game, enjoy it and well done Glasgow and all your fans 👍🇮🇪
Incredible game! Hard to watch the bulls lose but lost to a deserving team! How is Josh McKay not an international player..??!! Great game and the URC has just gotten better and better.
The way they stayed in the fight like warriors shows superb character. Well deserved spoils to the victors. The crowd showed their blatant ignorance and character towards the end when the tmo twice showed the wrong high tackle (there was a high shot but this was the wrong clips of a totally legal tackle) and the crowd went bananas begging for a card. Poor is an understatement followed by a losing coach dancing on his sour grapes in the press conference. Disappointed to be a saffer and just another reason I've had a black jersey since pre '95. The crowd didn't even stay to congratulate the bulls. They stood around looking sheepish with their silver medals in front of a few shell-shocked bystanders who at least stayed. SA rugby culture at its finest
I think Jake should have gone with a 6_2 bench. Jannes Kirsten, instead of cornel smit. It was a great game, he should also replaced the x2 props earlier, like last week. Well done to Glasgow, you guys are true warriors. From a bulls supporter. Again, well done.
I did not want to admit this because I am a bulls fan. But Glasgow always gave me shivers during the URC because they have that annoying persistence and they make a mess of everything they touch. I could not finish the game.😢
i was at the game (Lion supporter going to Loftus - not safe lol) to me the Bulls could just not get out of their half. In the first 20 every time the Bulls crossed the half way line they scored. Thereafter one penalty in the second half and could just not get out. Then the Bulls made a mistake when they were 5 points down and should have gone for the penalty. Went to the line and thought they could roll Glasgow. Lot of very calm but very unhappy Bulls after the game.
I've been a Bull my whole life and loved going to Loftus as a child. But damn the DJ at Loftus yesterday was embarrassing! Surely it would’ve been better for the Bulls players to hear home fans singing and cheering them on, instead of a DJ’s personal music mix blaring across the stadium at every break and sometimes well into game plays! The internet is full of SA rugby schools war cries and how energetic and motivating they can be to teams and players. Would it not be better if we all came together and performed a few of the war cries instead? I only hope that Rassie and Springbok management wont let the same thing happen at the Bok vs Ireland game. As South Africans we need to make visiting our stadiums a cultural experience and put fear in opposition teams and supporters. We wont achieve this by playing “Smokie” songs from the 70's. Lets leave that for before and after matches PLEASE! Glasgow congrats on the win! Well deserved and best team on the day won.
As a Glaswegian and long standing Warriors supporter, the graciousness of the Bulls and other team’s fans is much appreciated. In his short tenure, Franco Smith has galvanised the Glasgow Warriors into a team to be reckoned with. ‘What ever it takes’ is Glasgow Warriors’ motto and they showed how much this meant to them throughout the season, but more so in last week’s match at Thomond Park against Munster and in this evening’s match at match at Loftus Versfeld. Congratulations to Franco Smith and Glasgow Warriors on an outstanding achievement.
And if Scotland used the Warriors approach I can't see why they wouldn't be serious contenders for the 6 Nations. Incredible belief and never say die attitude was something to behold. From a happy Leinster fan.
Premiership follower with no skin in this game but have to say hats off to Glasgow. Everything was against them; away venue, altitude, travelling midweek 1/3 of the way round the world. Great result.
They deserve the win, Bulls had no answer for them when they attacked. They just wanted it more. As good as the bulls defence was last week, thats how bad it was tonight. Glad for Glasgow and Scotish rugby. Well played🇿🇦
@@EggchasersRugby proud of bulls they did very well with limited resources and springboks and loosing Willie le roux and canon moody for final limited bulls attack.
Some very gracious comments here from both Bulls and Irish fans. Thank you, respect to you all and best of luck to your teams for next season ( and for the upcoming tests ! ). From a Warriors fan.
Wow simply wow. Congratulations Glasgow from a Leinster fan. You guys did it the hard way, beating the former champs Stormers, current champs Munster then going to the hardest place in the URC and win just brilliant. Hope Leinster coaches are watching because Franco Smith just pulled a masterpiece of a performance from his Warriors. Congrats enjoy the night
If Leinster had, like Glasgow did, sent their best team to SA they'd have probably won it at home, but in any case would've had the experience of playing there that Glasgow had come knockout time. Food for thought for Leo I hope.
Delighted with a Glasgow win. As an Irish fan am really happy to see how competitive and entertaining the URC is becoming since the South African teams joined. It's no longer the cinderella league so time for Leinster to take it seriously. Roll on the 2025 season.
Happy for Glasgow - they 100% deserved it - lived up to their name as Warriors.. Disappointed S African here.. but it hurts less when your opponent plays heroically and wins the hard way
Big Bulls fan. I am broken. My voice is gone, and my lungs are shot. The vibe in the stadium was amazing. Glasgow wanted it more. Made dominent tackles and had that desire to win. Well played, Glasgow. Well deserved win.
The URC is proving to be the most competitive and entertaining league in rugby. The SA teams brought a lot more enjoyment and competitiveness to the tournament and 3 different winners from 3 different countries in 3 years shows just how good our league is.
First of all congrats to Bulls fans on classy comments in defeat. Can’t be easy. Appreciate it. But how good Warriors? The calmness shown, the physicality, grit, stubbornness (is that a word?😂) then the quality in both defence & attack, just superb! As a Warriors fan, we’ve known there’s been something there for ages but we just couldnae deliver. But not this time. Well done the boys! Class performance. You did us proud! 🏴
Altitude: 1350m... It didnt seem to matter. Fair play to Glasgow, obviously a very fit team, their maul is a thing of beauty, and their backs seem to be coated in a nonstick substance. Impressive win, considering it is their first win at Loftus since the inception of the URC.
Right?? Usually it's the other teams that get tired, lose focus and then make mistakes. But it was the Bulls who lost focus! Goose not getting touch, missed tackles galore. Who was the home team here, anyway? It didn't look like the team in blue.
A Warriors fan here. I did not expect this result. With travelling to Pretoria, playing at altitude in the S.A. heat, we usually struggle. But what a performance! Absolutely delighted. Well done lads!
Heya Tim, as a born and bred Pretorian, Blue Bulls fan, living in the most beautiful part of South Africa now - the Garden Route , listening on my phone to Rugby Guru commentating in Afrikaans, I have to say congratulations with huge respect to the Glasgow boys on their Victory ! Big Jim Hamilton, congrats to you too! You Scottish are badasses too! All in all I so love the URC league of which I think South Africa has helped upped the standard. For you, Tim, so happy to say you will be hosted and cared for beyond your wildest expectations in my beautiful country.. I have no doubt your subscribers will have doubled after your South African visit...not because of preferance of country, but only you being your Authentic you... ❤❤❤
Loved seeing that huge crowd/atmosphere! Well done to both teams, Glasgow are fully deserving Champions! Now off to cap off the day's rugby watching with Stade Francais vs Bordeaux & two of my favourite players in Joe Marchant & Nicolas Depoortère going toe-to-toe!!!
As a neutral Stormers fan, what a final! Fully deserved victory by Glasgow. They won a good Stormers team, then knocked out the defending champions at Thormond Park and had to beat the Bulls at Loftus. In the three URC finals we had three different champions from three different nations. Great for the competition. The standards of the URC are getting better year by year. It's becoming an elite world class competition right up there with the best in the world. You simply cannot predict a winner anymore. A huge step up from the pro12 and pro14.
Hi Tim. Thank you for the breakdowns and hot takes for all the matches, much appreciated. I. How is that your channel does not have any sponsors, they should be falling over themselves to market to rugby fans and I for one, as a South African, would not mind if a major sponsor would lend you a hand. And, why are you not on TV, if not in England, at least here in South Africa. We have great pundits and ex-players on Supersport, but your voice and insights are also needed. Keep up the good work, and I hope can enjoy your few weeks coming up in South Africa, and be back with the fam for the summer as well.
Glasgow fan here - absolutely elated. Appreciate the gracious comments from Bulls fans and others. Read one from a Leinster fan which was especially appreciated - especially since this team - not just this team but many of the players who played today - got absolutely steamrollered by Leinster in the quarters two years ago. While that was not the real us, it does show that what Franco has done with these guys in a couple of years is absolutely remarkable.
I was at the game, the worriers played a tactically superior game. They moved the bulls big boys around the park expertly. Kyle Steyn, Fagerson and Darge were in unbelievable. The intensity made me realise what these boys put themselves through. We lost but what game. Congratulations to Glasgow you played like champions today.
I feel comfortable enough to say this here. Everybody taking the piss out of the competition is proper order, its what we do. But lets remember that we are a small sport. This guys videos are important to me, but none of my mates watch rugby. Im Irish, i was never good enough to play rugby. But I love it😊, Ill always follow it. I belong in this sport. Tim, thanks for being class. Keep going!
Very sporting comments from our SA friends. A really big night for Glasgow. Cant explain how much it means. Not least because of the huge respect I have for SA rugby and the Bulls in particular.
