Rc cars in Dick Smith stores...thats bringing back memories... Radio Shack too 🤔. Mate that's just awesome! They're all in such good condition too. If you need a spare shelf to put some rc's on I think I can accommodate them in my hobby room😁. Thanks for sharing your vid👍🦘🇦🇺
Haha yeah, that was a long time ago. I think the Pajero was already around 8 years old when I saw it at Dickies, must have been around '92. So definitely old stock. Yeah they're all in nice condition, I got lucky with this lot. I think covid might be playing a part, people selling their RC's. Lol I'll keep that in mind mate. 😂 No probs at all! 🙂👍
Sweet purchases man, they are quality love the Mitsubishi (please swap the wheels round looks like the rears are on the front) 😂 another great episode dude looking forward to more, those Kyosho’s are lovely👍
Thanks mate. Haha I did notice the wheels when editing the video, I thought "hmm, I better check those". I did come with an extra set of wheels, so I guess the owner had just done a quick swap. It's all good though, I'll strip it down and try to get it looking new-ish again. Oh yeah, the Kyosho cars look nice. I'm pretty happy with all of them really. Each one will get their own videos in time, either restoring or running. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it!👍
Nice lot Mick! The Pajero is a real favourite of mine especially in 100% boxart! The Raider is a great old classic too and pretty keen on the Thundershot also! but how cool does the last kyosho look defo better then boxart! Would look epic running 😉
Thanks James. It's always been a favorite of mine too, in box art of course. I think Tamiya should have kept the Brat wheels on the Montero when they made that, I think it just doesn't look right with the big wheels. Oh yeah the Raider is a classic, I had to have at least one in my collection as I had one new back in '88. I got lucky, now I have two, so now I can run one! Always wanted a Thundershot too, although they've never been high on my list of must have's. Buying the Fire Dragon and already owning the Terra Scorcher kind of spurred me on to get the Thundershot. I think the Saurus looks way better than box art, it's a real credit to the previous owner. Thinking I will have to get the Saurus on a track, it will look awesome running. 👍
@@RCHobbyShed yeah agree tamiya maybe could of released two versions! One more like the original and a monster version too! But yeah l love the Pajero just watch it in those old tamiya promo vids its just awesome to see! I had one for years and ran it into the ground but really want one again but this time around for the display shelf! Keep up the great stuff Mick cheers mate😎👍
@@mad-beerc3818 They do look cool. I think you should get one for display. They're getting quite hard to find, so you should do it now! 😂 Thanks mate, will do! 🙂👍
Thanks for showing us this history, I've never seen a kyosho soarer, hope you do run it ,looks like it will handle well. I'd be too scared to drive it in case I do silly things. The pajero looks a little like the cc02 f100 chassis. That's another favorite of mine, goes well brushless.
No probs mate. The Saurus should handle nicely being based on the Ultima, although it might be a bit strange on road with the tyres. Thinking I'll take it to a track so it kinda looks at home. Yeah the Pajero chassis does look similar to cc01's, I think the cc01 might handle a little better though. 👍
I love that Saurus, it is badass with wide wheels. It is based on Ultima chassis? I thought Ultima aluminium plate was with 6 holes. Saurus has 7 holes. Did you make some research about this? I would like to know about it more. And 2 Pajeros? Man, you are lucky.
Me too, it does look much better with the wide wheels. Yes it's based on the Ultima, well the Ultima family, Ultima/ Ultima II/Ultima Pro. Although it's not actually an Ultima chassis, I say "based on" because it has Ultima gearbox, suspension, front end and suspension, shocks. I didn't need to actively research it, as I knew what it was since way back when it was released. Yeah I got lucky finding two Montero kits at a reasonable price, most are way over priced. 👍
@@RCHobbyShed Thank you for reply, now Im a little bit smarter about this 👍. I never saw Saurus in real life, never tried find some info about, so thank you for information. At this time, one piece is for sale in Germany. Not so nice like yours, but Im tempted.
@@milosrcernycerny5537 No worries mate! I think the Saurus wasn't very popular when it came out, maybe due to it's strange look compared with other cars of the time. But I think they look quite good. If you have the chance to get one for you collection, I say go for it! 👍
Would be interested in seeing the Raider being cleaned up and some more of Saurus, it being based on the Ultima. Edit. Would also be interested in seeing if youd re-paint the body or get a repo body and do a do-over.
I think they'll all get their own video showing what direction I go with each one. The Saurus will probably stay as it is, but not 100%. I doubt it'll ever be box art though, I think it look great in white. 👍
