Wow, it is really interesting to see your productivity with the same product in a different part of the world. I just poured my pad. And in each corner of my pad, I drill down 4 feet with 4 10inch diameter piers. On top of those peers, I interlocked an 18 inch thick pad that is almost almost 60“ x 60“. I’m guessing my cement concrete is about 6200 pounds. I built mine for a 2000 W turbine, but I built it to also take maybe 5000 or 10,000 W. I will upload the video when raising the tower. In Canada, we have a little bit more frost ground problems. So I made this as a floating pier floating pad. If I get frost, it should lift uniform and drop uniform.
yeah, if the frost is such an issue - floating platforms with a proper counterweight mass is the only resolution I guess. And, true, build it for 10kW machine (7+ meters in dia) and then put there something smaller like 4m (3kW) or 5.4 m dia (5 kW) to sleep like a baby and not to worry during whatever storms may happen

This has now sent me back about two or three weeks. But I'm building the tower Tough enough to be able to handle a bigger wind turbine. Right now, the very first wind turbine that will be going up on. It will be the 2000 w. I was just reading the other comments, I really hope you are staying safe and not in the fighting zone. This is probably not a fare contest, as the VAWT is much smaller power output wise than it’s larger horizontal cousin. From the data available for the HAWT, I estimate about 10-12W at 3m/s. For the VAWT there is limited data, but the output is more like 3-5W at the same wind speed. But I would suggest that looking at the generators used for both types, the match to the HAWT is better than for the VAWT, which is always a problem with a savonius type (the small rotor in the centre), which is included to get the darrieus to start up at low wind speeds, as savonius turbines are low rpm -high torque devices. Since this turbine is basically a darrieus type, its generator will be matched to this type and so be horrible inefficient below the start-up speed of the darrieus type. This particular turbine is a compromise between two types of VAWT, and is specified very well to favour ether types of VAWT.
pricewise - they are not competitors. X3 is pricier than M3. so it's not the consumer's problem that within the same amount of budget he/she can't get the same working area. I've been seeing them on various wind speeds, and vertical one can't even get anywhere near 10 watts immediate output...
Thier a great idea and would save alot of polution, being sound, slip ring. Thier is a horticulturist in America whos mass produceing wafer thin electricro magnet generators which are in the vertical turbine, his idea is to double or treble up the generators in the vertical turbine to keep up with the demands, not sure why vertical axis companys haven't done this already, becuase they would sell alot more in suburban areas, i do know the most expensive part is the electro magnet generator by almost 2/3rds, but still why sell something which not going to produce as much !
@@ModernUkrainianHomesteadYour wright, they won't, but if they could people would go and by, just on the fact their would be no bushs to replace or a sealed slip ring costing £20. a good idea to prevent wear on bushes or slip ring is not to brake the wind turbine, instead dump load into heat, like water or sand or sand then water !
horizontal - 1.65 dia, so it makes it 2.137 sqm vertical - 0.49*0.75 so it's 0.3675 sqm so, the truth is - that you can't get the same swept area in both types for the same price. never.
hard to say. this place was under occupation from late Feb 2022 till April 1-st 2022, since I am near Kyiv. right now, only rockets fall down here and there, the closest one was shot down this Monday in about half a mile away. the active frontline right now is 450 km away.

I was in the us infantry for 13 years so I give you mad respect for living your life and doing what you have to do
well, while I was starting a house, I did not plan any bunker unfortunately, so the only thing we can do is the "two walls" rule, that's it. Otherwise the best possible option is - to adjust your steel (I hope so) balls and keep going, as there is literally no choice. Every day is important, and you have to get somewhere further each next day.
