The videos on your personal channel are master classes in how to create interesting beds that don't distract from what you want your audience focused on.
Bro your monstrous rig indeed lives up to its herculean tag. May the good LORD continue to pour abundant Grace & favor upon that consecrated life of yours, wholly poured out for the service of HIS eternal Kingdom.
That was so awesome man. Wow. You nailed the sound for Ocean down to the details. I love the fact that you have a great relationship with your sound/audio guys where they can understand what you trying to do and they can add their expertise to make it come to life. The keys sounds so good man. Thank you for sharing.
EXCELLENT video!!! I hope you will continue posting more videos as this vid led me to your personal channel. I’m so excited. Remain humble, allowing God to use and lift you, always. Beautiful playing. Wonderful setup and entertaining video from start to finish! Thanks Sunday Keys for introducing us to Isaac and thanks Isaac! 🎶💞
That's Tight Son. I Always Wondered How Musician's I those Big Churches Have All That Stuff Hooked Up. I Wonder What The Transport Cases And Gear Prep Looks Like When Packing To Travel To Different Gigs?
Looks impressive...have you checked out Gig Performer? It could possibly help you save a keyboard as it does streamline things a lot. The links to the stands you use are really handy. Thank you!
Great video! Thanks! Quick question: why do you prefer active DIs over passive DIs? You have active instruments only in your setup as far as I can tell
Great response to people thinking they need the “best” gear. I 100% agree on learning as much as you can with what you have and move on from there when/if you can/if you even need to.
Hi Isaac! It was great seeing you at Lake Panorama on the 2nd! I have two questions: 1. When you run backing tracks, do you ever change the tempo and, if so, how? B. For your click track, is it a steady click sound or do you have a different sound for beat one of each measure? (We're just starting to use click and would like to use backing tracks and are trying to leverage other people's experience and knowledge to get up to speed). 🙂
I play guitar and know how insane a rigrundown can be, but y'all keyboard players are on another level! How do you know when to switch keyboards??? Let alone pulling up a patch on your laptop? Love the video though!
Probably a bad question but is using the Nord built in sounds better than using sunday sounds app? I use sunday keys on iPad and want a Nord keyboard but feel it's pointless if I just use it as a midi controller
I use both a Nord and SK on iPad. I actually have both output at the same time - stereo from Nord 1/4" jacks to the DI and stereo from iPad to a USB DI. Why? Because having played used the Nord for a long time, I feel that the sounds and the delicacy of control is just better. This way, the lead lines, piano, organ stuff from the Nord can be controlled by FoH / SoS separately from the iPad - let the sound guys balance out for you.
I have both, and prefer the keys sounds of the Nord. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved using SS especially for aux stuff, but the Nord keyboard and piano sounds are much better IMO. SS keys/pianos sound a bit too digital and compressed for my liking, and I’ve never been able to find or make a good keys patch that I’ve liked (other than the “special” ones like the Black Hole Piano because I like recording pianos with effects, just not for worship things). AUX keys is a different story.
Is it just me or does this seem way too advanced for a church service? I appreciate the details behind the set-up, but if you can't get the sounds you need out of a 3-4 thousand dollar keyboard I just can't understand that. If this is the new standard, it's getting to be too much.
From what he has shown in this video: he only uses the piano sound on the Nord and uses Omnisphere + some other piano from computer. It's not that he needs the 4k keyboard, it just happened to be available. Also it's much easier to program sound on a computer, tweak them, and use them wherever you go versus on a keyboard.
youre an inspiration man. i pray i'll get there too. i am currently using only roland xps10 in our church. getting the most of it. my biggest sound was 12layer sounds. all stock. one day i will get an M1 also and a red nord.
Tbh, this is just op for a usual Sunday. I mean, just imagine churches who need to setup the whole stage every Sunday. Or also this is impossible oft others t to use. I think besides being good and playing on stage, especially at church it is all about enabling others to do so too. Also as an musician I used to love: less is more! This is the perfect home studio setup, but on medium church size Sunday setup I couldn't. Etikk, still, great work brother. Keep it up and be blessed 🙏🏽
Also, I just switched from using Ableton/Native Instruments as my main keys to using my NORD 3 as my main. BUT I still want to have access to my different pianos for specific songs. Is there an easy way to be able to switch from NORD patches to my DAW patches seamlessly?
Very nice setup. Would be nice if you guys made a keys setup for people who can't afford all that gear. Cause all this is pretty unrealistic for a huge majority of people
