What do the lyrics mean? They don't mean anything it all, it's just those songs that pretend to have a deep message when infact it doesn't, literally nothing here makes sense.

@@shafaet1194 my modest and very personal interpretation (sorry for my BAD english): what is written in the text seem the point of view of the angels who rebelled against God in Eden, for example the "deceptive games" or the "illusory writings" saided as accusations/sarcasmic criticism are the biblical prophecies (indeed difficult to interpret). When the text refers to "your delusion" (while the video shows the sun with his rays through the clouds...) seem to talk about the "disappointment of God" to the rebellion of his spiritual suns and the first human couple, and his stance against them (while this "rebellious angels" claim that they will not succumb to it). "Why we should believe you carring you own burden" seem referred to the promises from god (eternal life, happiness etc), and the "burden" that he's carrying is the sacrifice of his first sun, Jesus. As for the time waiting for this "unchained utopia" seem refer about the god's kingdom (an utopian paradise, indeed) that will comes after he unleashes his war in Armagedon. PS: There are several texts of the epica which seem to have taken lot of inspiration from the biblical scriptures and often seen from the same point of view: the song of rebellion against God. Now you can laugh 😁, but honestly it seem pretty clear too me because in the past I've studied the bible and because the epica seem set against religion by default

The Libertarian philosophy behind this song, which I'm not positive about, does trace itself to Milton Friedman who wrote the Libertarian Manifesto Cato Unbound. Cato was a Roman in Shakespeare's play Brutus. A lot of philosophy going on here.

Hate to sound super hipster here, but I LOVED The Dance, Enter, and Mother Earth, but they just don't have the same sound anymore and Sharons voice doesn't reach me as it once did. Simone Simons all the way!

Well... Simone also had a time when she just wasn't that good and we all could realized about that, even she so she took classes again. But I'm not speaking about the music she plays but the "color" of her voice, it is just so sweet and charming. I love them both

Yep. I think it is about criticising the capitalist utopia the western world is trying to create, exemplified by the imagery of Simone on the chariot with what looks like Wall Street workers (economists at least) pulling it, representing the change in power perhaps that is required in the dystopian world. There is so much confusing imagery. Perhaps I am mixing it with that from Disturbed's rendition of Land of Confusion. You should check it out; you may like it. :)

'Does it make sense to mend the cracks you hide behind our backs?' seems like a jab at people who peddle their version of Utopia while hiding their ideological flaws. 'They are not all the same, cannot take the blame' sounds like how certain ideologies will deflect critisizm with straw man arguments. The best strawman of all being 'intersectionalism.' Arguing against that is like trying to argue against a medusa.
