You can use the Epicenter with HipHop music. It depends on the bass frequencies of the bass line of each song. I’ve been using the Epicenter on my system for over 25 years and still have my original subwoofers. Key is, don’t raise the gains so high on the amps, and head unit. Great video!

I know some of J COLE songs don’t have enough bass. I’m thinking about stuff like that.

Thanks for the video. I was wondering why my sundown amp & soundqubed sub was getting hot asf. I started thinking the other day it was the epicenter. Now you've confirmed what I've been experiencing.

I use mine on hip hop all day everyday and it sounds great. In my experiences you need a heavy duty sub that can take the added abuse and If your subs are entry or mid level the epicenter isn’t going to sound great and chances are you will burn up the coils trying to make them work past there mechanical limitations but if you have beefy subs like sundown, dc audio or in my case Fi audio it will perform best.

So let’s say you listen hip hop, reggaeton and corridos (Mexican Music) Do you have to constantly turn it on and off or is there a way to set it and forget it. What I mean is like having it tuned so that it only recovers bass in the corridos and it does nothing to hip hop and reggaeton while being on?

Understandable fo sho. But I have a few questions with the theory ( when it comes to epiccenter and rap music ) 1) if using aftermarket Android headunit the output rca voltage is around 2 two 4 volts. Wouldn't a epiccenter improve that voltage ? 2) On stock headunit, Wouldn't to epiccenter/line driver help with the bass row off ? I agree turning the nob down with Rap music on is wise and up with old school R&B/ Classic soul is best. Thanks
@fullpeladas
@fullpeladas 7 месяцев назад
No epicenter is not for bass roll off. If using a factory radio wanna get only bass there audio control lc2i that has a bass roll off feature. There's also lc7i audio control. For a full system on stock radio gets you rca for mids and bass . There's also lcq1 then last a dsp.

Nice video and to the point. I'm sure lots of users fry their equipment with the Epicenter. I read that for rock music that even though you can turn the Epicenter knob all the way down the unit is still active and will introduce distortion and make the bass sound worse than not having it at all. Does this sound correct? Your video convinced me not to do an Epicenter install.

Question: the epicenter uses pfm chips which are essentially subsonic filter chips. So does that mean i can set my mono amps ssf all the way to the left/lowest setting as the epicenter is already using a pfm/ssf chip

Bad analogy. Basically a fallacy argument. It is possible to combine a turbocharger and a supercharger in a setup known as 'twin-charging'. Utilizing both methods of forced induction can lead to significant power gains. That said, this is a complex engineering task and requires careful tuning to ensure the components work together effectively. Just like the Epicenter. It works but you have to know what you're doing and pay attention as to when to use it.

Can the epicenter be controlled with the bass remote it comes with and if it does can I use that remote with my amp's bass remote together?
@wiredkustomsmotorsports
@wiredkustomsmotorsports Год назад
You’ll use 2 knobs.
@VALAREZ
@VALAREZ 28 дней назад
The epicenter micro has a 2nd built in knob on top of the effect knob. That knob controls the preamp voltage so lowering it reduces voltage signal to the amp, which pretty much has the same effect as turning down the amp's gain or bass knob. So you wouldn't need to bother with the amp's bass knob if you got that option.

Thank you.. Steve Meade blocked me for telling him that when he got his 'special' one. lol well that and for referring to my pair of 18's in the mrk2 Gti 16v as 'twin 18s'. When you been using them as long as I have you tire of spitting out "a pair of 18's in a folded horn" over and over at IASCA events. Epicenters were designed for a purpose to fill in the blank where old studio recordings fell short. Never had customer's with true, full range systems like it once added on.. I started in 77 but finally ran into those by ~1985

No. Accubass if to restore low bass roll-off from factory radios in cars. No need for accubass if you have an aftermarket radio. You can stack the accubass and epicenter with each other though. They serve different purposes

This video is too generalized, there is a lot more nuance to it than simply genre of music. Let's take rap for instance. you can listen to Trick Daddy's "cause I'm a thug" and it has fairly strong low bass in it, you probably don't want to put the epicenter's effect on that. Then you have R kelly & Cameron's Snake version and that leans more to mid bass with like no low bass (25-35 Hz). The epicenter can fill in those lacking frequencies IF YOU LIKE THEM and make the song sound better without really boosting something that was there. there are some generalities to music within the same genre, but every track isn't playing the same bass frequencies and even if something has some 30hz in there, sometimes it's weak and can use a bit of a boost to get the most out of your speakers. It's important to know your speakers, play it by ear and know when you're feeding it too much. If it's like way louder than it's ever been, you probably should turn it down............. This video I guess works to lower the chances of costumers fucking something up and them coming back, but it does not really fully educate them on what the epicenter does. So I get vibes of a guy that doesn't trust costumers to use restraint and would rather have them not return with a problem than actually wanting people to know what they have and how to safely get the best performance from their equipment.
