A wonderful example of well formed Epidote crystals with defined faces and edges on host rock. The crystals have a glassy luster and are dark green, opaque to translucent crystals.
Most Epidote specimens that are extracted from this locality are below average and damaged. It has been reported that this occurs due to the fact that during the heavy winter, water runs through the cracks on the host rock, which freezes when temperature is below zero, thus damaging the crystals. This crystal specimen is among the better quality specimens.
Thank you for watching.
