“just relax, it’s gonna be calm, it’s gonna be OK” you have no idea how much i needed to hear this, interview is in a couple hours and i’ve been researching for days, i pray i do the best that i can 💗💗
Hi Ruth, You might not remember me, but this is Simon. We were on the same shift at MPC. Anyway, thank you so much for these tips. I actually watched your video as part of my interview prep, and I got my offer letter today. I'm so proud of you, and I'll definitely be hitting you up for a quick meet-up once I'm up there. Keep shining ❤️
Bathong how could I ever forget you Si! You made me feel so welcome at MPC and supported the entire team. If anyone deserves this kind of opportunity, it's you. Congratulations 😍😍🇰🇷❤️🥳 Please DM me on Instagram at ruth_madlazi so we can chat more 😊
Thank you so much for posting this! I got my interview offer two days ago and scheduled my interview for a few hours from now! Lots of nerves and preparation for right now, and your video really helped me a lot! I hope to run into you in Korea!
Hello~ I applied for the Fall 2024 intake and I'm still waiting to hear back from EPIK for an interview, so in the meantime I'm preparing myself for the interview! I have been feeling very anxious about it lately, but you made me feel at ease, so thank you! Your video is very helpful and I feel a lot more confident about the interview now!
I'm joining you very soon Sis Ruth! Thank you for the great advice and guidance. You've been such a great leader as a former UJ colleague. Thanks for continuing on the role of helping people to rise with you as you achieve the many things that you have.
I have applied for EPIK Fall 2023 and I’m so so excited to start my teaching journey in South Korea! Thank you for how helpful this video is. I too am from South Africa, would you be willing to assist with regards to how you went about getting your documents apostilled?
All the best with the application! I explained the entire document process in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B7Ra4mosPE4.html Essentially though, Postnet will be your best friend. You can use them to send the documents to DIRCO for apostille
God bless you, this was such a wonderful video. All the info you give is incredibly helpful. Thanks so much for clearing up what the teaching demo should be like because when I first heard about it I wasn’t sure how many props they’d be expecting or how long or if I should try to engage the interviewer. Thanks so much for that, I feel a lot better praise God🥰
Excellent!!! I saw many videos about this subject but this one, is very helpful and professional oriented. Thank you so much and looking forward to more content.
Wonderful! Spot on👌, you are a good teacher I must say. I am looking for that location as well Juallamdo. Thank you for this video, you have touched very important points.
It all depends on the age group you are teaching. Middle and high school students enjoy K-pop, crime documentaries, and Webtoons. So you could answer the interviewer by saying you'd invest time watching the media content the students in your age group like, and base some of the lessons on it too
Thank you for the helpful tips! I have an interview coming up 😅 If you don’t mind may please confirm this information, is it true that when you are placed in Jeollanam-do or Chungnam you get paid 2.3M plus a rural allowance and a higher chance of teaching multiple schools? I’m considering choosing Jeollam but I want to be sure first. Thank you again 🙏
Thank you so much for this! Extremely helpful 🙏🙏🙏 Now that you have been in SK for a bit longer, how are you finding your rural placement? Any regrets or are you happy where you are?
Feeling isolated and invisible has been my greatest struggle thus far. I don't regret my choice, but I realize I am going to have to work really hard to create social circles and take care of my mental health 🤍🥺
@@zizojikizinto Thank you for responding 🙏, the points that you have listed are part of my main concerns, I’m an introvert so I already tend to isolate and it’s already hard for me making friends here in SA, so I have a fear of being even more isolated in the rurals or Korea. Yes I know that one can also still feel lonely in a big city, but I would think that chances of socialising and forming friendships with other foreigners could be higher in a city? As much as rural money is great, I’m more concerned about the mental health aspect of it all, there may be other English teachers in your area but you may still be the only black teacher 😖 I’m so sorry for rambling along, I don’t know if I’m asking you a question or just venting out my millions of concerns 😭😂😂🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@Sammy-oo6wi ramble on sis! These are very valid concerns. For me, I have a community of foreign teachers in my city who welcomed me so well. Actually, foreign teacher communities in rural areas tend to be more close-knit. My isolating experiences come when I have to do things alone, like grocery shopping or traveling via public transport. These are battles you will have to fight by yourself
Hi sis! FNB is the best for SA banks, I have a Standard Bank account too and its also been okay. Vodacom is the mobile network that will work when you get here but it should be a prepaid number and not contract so it can roam ❤️
@@zizojikizinto Ah, ok thank you so much for clarifying. 😊😊 I almost had a mini panic attack since I wrote one big essay answering them. I'll just have to separate them. I'm not quite at my point of applying, but since I learned it is a long process I've started preparing since I only have a few more months of school left before I earn my BA. I hope it goes well when the time comes especially since I only enrolled in school so that I could apply. I'm worried and excited at the same time, but the videos you all post have been very helpful so thank you so much for sharing. 💖💖
@ji-ji4632 I am so happy that you are starting the process early. It will definitely ease you from the anxiety of the actual process once you begin. If you are comfortable with me viewing your essays and giving general feedback once you are done, you could send them to zrmadlazi@gmail.com I wish you all the best with the completion of your studies 😊 ❤️
Hey sis I’ve been searching this online but can’t seem to find anything If I have a National diploma and then get a PGCE will I be eligible for EPIK THANK YOU 🙏
Hey sis! With the PGCE, I think EPIK will take you because they strictly want NQF level 7. If they don't, please use Destination TEFL instead. They will charge you a fee for training and placement, it will be in Cambodia, Thailand or Indonesi. This is their website:destinationtefl.com/
Hey sis . Quick question, will me going to a public school affect my epik application? English was a medium of instruction, and I took the language as a first additional language instead of home language. Finishing of my law degree, volunteering at a children's home and I have tutoring experience
Hey sis! Yes, you are the perfect candidate. I also went to public schools, isiZulu was my HL and English was my FAL. What matters is that the language of instruction at your schools was English, which is the case for most South African schools ♥️😁
@@zizojikizinto thank you so much. I was really stressing out!!! It's 01.06am this side and I have been busy researching on that.🤣🤣🤣🤣😭❤️ Now I can actually get my sleep. How can one connect with you? I would really love to keep communication incase I have any hassles, I hope it's no bother🤗❤️🙏
I cannot guarantee this, but I think it's worth a try. There are academies or private schools that you could give a try in Japan as well. Let me know if you would like some more information on this
Thaaaaank you :) ❤ This is quite helpful. LOL I love your posture, your calmness, you've been presenting all your life. Really great. I'll update after my interview , ngyabonga Sisi
