Hello, mates. Here's a video where I show you how this Epiphone EJ-200 cutaway sounds. This is a guitar of a friend of mine who left it with me for a while. Guitar - Epiphone EJ-200CE BK (Indonesia 2015)
Hey great playing! I'm on the fence between this guitar and the new J-200 inspired by Gibson model, which would you recommend is best overall in terms of quality, playability and sound? Is the action low on these?
Hey! Thanks very much, mate. This guitar and the J-200 are two different guitars, but so much similar one to another because they are both jumbo with a similar finish. This guitar has gold tuners, the J-200 has bone Epiphone Deluxe tuners. The woods used to build them change and this makes their sound, especially if you use the right kind of strings on them. If you use different strings, you will have different sounds. Both guitars are easy and comfort to play, action is in a right position and easily adjustable if you don't like it. I suggest you to try them in a guitar shop or in more than one shop, if you have the chance, my friend. The price of the J-200 is more high than this one.
Beautiful play!! I am getting a Korea EJ200 2005 soon!! I was wondering if the neck profile is comfortable like the J209 inspired by Gibson. What do you think?
Thanks very much mate. It depends by the guitar. I have a 2010 EJ-200 and it's very comfortable to play as much as the new Inspired by Gibson. The best way to have a clear idea is to play it in a guitar shop and try to understand what you like.
They were originally were supposed to ve made in Japan. That's the only reason I took a chance. Mine said made in China and was completely unplayable. Ups picked up 2 days later and took it back. I'll never buy another Epi. China knows nothing about quality instruments..Japan is legendary..
I've never played an Epiphone acoustic made in China. They were always made in Korea and Indonesia and I always liked all of them, except the Epiphone AJ-220S. It was a guitar without a robust sound. Basses were totally absent because of the body. Almost similar thing with the Epiphone 1963 EJ-45. The rest of Epiphone guitars I played in general were very good guitars. I'm sorry for your experience. Japan ones were the top.
