That is some precise work you've done on an amazing looking guitar! Im thinking of getting an Epi Sg in sparkling burgundy with P90's as Gibson doesnt have a sparkling burgundy for 2024 so I'de have to go used which with shipping is more than a brand new Gibson. At present I have an Epi Sg Pro with a Dimarzio Dimebag in the bridge and its amazing! Gibsons should have stainless steel frets as standard. Thanks very much for sharing

That’s a lot of work to do on a new guitar. I hope those frets last forever!

Nice work! SS looks a tough material to work with.. I assume it will blunt your files pretty quick? What did you do to secure the bridge posts? Glue in toothpicks?

So far I have done 3 stainless fret jobs and all of my files still seem to be holding up fine. And at the time I used a bit of CA glue for the posts. I have since replaced the posts and bridge with a Graphtec adjustable.

Thanks good the … I have a fret guru too 👍 Did you buy a set of ss frets or just the wire? Have you ever changed a wrap around bridge for a tunamatic and stops tail?.. I am considering changing my specials hardware.. figured I would buy a scratch plate and plug the OG tail pieces holes and re drill 🤷🏻‍♂@@tightwadproductions961

Why putting new frets in new guitar? And the fret job was pretty bad, it was better done from the factory as the fret ends were in the binding and not over it like you did. And I see some of new frets hanging from the fretboard lol

1. I like stainless frets and planned to replace them from the start 2. I prefer to maximize the fretboard width by going to the edges of the binding and using a steeper bevel for the fret ends. 3. The finished guitar didn't have any fret ends hanging over. I play the guitar every week, and the stainless frets would tear up my hands and fingers if so. They were beveled back flush with the binding.
