What's super interesting to me, about this album specifically, is that it captures this particular moment in time (like Trale said), and yet ALSO somehow seems timeless? All of these songs & this whole album could be about any kind of different low/down moments in one's life. It's kind of fascinating; the songs' meaning, at their core, stay the same, but it's a whole different experience thinking about these songs outside of the context of the pandemic. I do really like the thematic significance of the songs and the title of BE - Capturing a moment in time, encapsulating a feeling, just BE-ing, existing right now in this global moment & really taking it in and processing what that means for them (and yourself).

B T S has become a lifeline for me. The lyrics are so relatable and mature. I had stopped listening to music and was using books as my escape and comfort, until I discovered B T S . As an introvert I often just don't want to go out and deal with people...I love going out with friends etc sometimes (or at least I did when we could go out with friends) but then I want to go home again and spend time alone in my room.

I love my room, the view from my room, my bed, everything is good, I like to spent in my room alone, my favourite thing is to sit beside the window looking outside and listening to music with my wandering thoughts. That's my healing time. So I can relate to this song. I love bts , I rarely listen to other artist than bts. Its been 3 years I had become an army, for all these years I have been only listening to bts and I never get tired of their song.

In spite of the recent release of "BE", we can already gather a lot of data on the messages transmitted and this thanks to the transparency and the sharing of BTS in their writing process and their reflections that we have been able to follow for years. And by the way, you're right, let your children get bored, it's the best way to stimulate awakening and imagination. Besides, the theme of this song could very well be a subject for an essay... Here's what you need to know about this track: “내 방을 여행하는 법 (Fly To My Room)” - written and composed by Cosmo’s Midnight, J-Hope, Joe Femi Griffith, RM and Suga - is a sub-unit track featuring SUGA, j-hope, Jimin and V. The song speaks about the frustrating experience of stay-at-home orders and quarantine forced by the global COVID-19 pandemic. BTS had planned for a World Tour when they were forced to stay at home with one another. Though they missed meeting with their fans, collectively known as ARMY, and traveling elsewhere, their bonds with one another deepened which was fulfilling in and of itself. Ok Let’s get it about some lyrics and their explanations: GET ME OUTTA MY BLUES The reference to sadness or feeling depressed are linked with the word “blue” [Source: theidioms.com] It is usually termed as “feeling blue” and “have the blues”. Thus, “get me outta my blues” implies wanting to get out of (overcome) the sadness brought by covid-19 risk and restrictions as it hinder us from doing the things we wanted to do and should have done. FEEL LIKE IT'S STILL DAY ONE This could be implying that during the quarantine for covid-19 all the days seem to mesh together and it still feels like its the first day. SOMEBODY TURN BACK THE CLOCK THE ENTIRE YEAR GOT STOLEN For many people, this year most literally got stolen, as many were forced to quarantine and to work or study from home, due to COVID-19. We feel frustrated, powerless and guilty over something that isn’t our fault. I'M STILL IN BED It is very hard to get up from our beds during these months, because we don’t have the motivation to do anything or to even exist, as COVID-19 has sucked out a lot of our energy. We don’t want to do anything, so we just lay in our beds. A BLOATED STOMACH IT'S KILLIN' ME SLOWLY, NAH Most people stuck in the house do nothing but eat whatever is available in the fridge or whatever food that comes in their mind. Staying at home also means more time staying in bed. So, the continues saga of eating and laying in bed would lead you having a bloated stomach and it is an unhealthy habit. I WANT TO LEAVE ANY WAY THERE'S NO WAY THIS ROOM IS ALL I HAVE Many people had to quarantine for more than 2 weeks, in efforts to contain the COVID-19 Pandemic. In countries like Korea and China, quarantine was mandatory, and no one was allowed to leave their houses for anything besides buying groceries. There is also a double entendre with the words any and way. When combined together, it’s anyway (used to confirm/support a mentioned idea or to change the subject/continue conversation after a pause). When separated, it is any way, or any direction. This means that he wants to escape the room through whatever crevice he can. This can be a physical escape or a mental one. THEN, WHAT CAN I DO HERE? INTO MY WORLD LET'S CHANGE IT, YEAH Previously in this song all the lyrics are talking about the negative effects of being stuck in your room during the COVID-19 Pandemic. However in this line they try to have a an positive outlook on all the things you can do in your room. This is the turning point in the song where they stop thinking of being trapped but more that they are able to appreciate where they are stuck LET'S GO, LET ME FLY TO MY ROOM After the turning point in Verse 1, they are happy to be in their room. Their room is something to be excited about and to be their true self. In their concept photos for the album, each of the member created their own room. This emphasizes the personalities and the opportunities one can have during the pandemic in their own room. EVEN THE OLD DESKS, THE CHANGED SUNLIGHT LOOKS SPECIAL Spending so much time in solitude, there’s been a rise in appreciation for the small things. This line is reminiscent of BTS' 2019 track “Boy With Luv”. The song’s also titled in Korean “a poem for small things.” It describes their appreciation for the lesser victories in life: “World peace (No way) A great order (No way) I just want to keep you safe” As of when this song was released, November 2020, an end of the pandemic is not in sight. However, BTS state how their goals are not centered around specifically the pandemic. They’ve made their goals something more attainable and realistic, like bringing joy/comfort to their fans. I'M LITTLE LESS LONELY, NAH BETTER WAY I JUST FOUND A BETTER WAY At first they say ‘i am little less lonely now, in this isolation’ but the ‘nah’ tells us at actually they still feel lonely because they are still alone with nobody around them because the situation that they can meet people didn’t change. Instead they just found a better way to cope with the whole situation with for instance finding the beauty in small things again. but they are still lonely. the loneliness stays but they found a way to cope better with this loneliness BROKEN IS BEAUTIFUL This lyric shows that not everyone is perfect and everyone has their broken parts. Thus, broken is still beautiful and it should always be. THIS ROOM IS TOO SMALL YES, TO CONTAIN MY DREAM (YAH, YAH, YAH) This means that during the Covid-19 pandemic we want to have a job and make our dreams come true, but stuck in our rooms, isn’t helping. These rooms are too small for our big dreams and wishes, which, with determination and faith, can come true. SOMETIMES THIS ROOM BECOMES AN EMOTIONAL TRASH CAN IT HUGS ME He is saying that eventhough we are trapped right now, actually this room is your emotinal trash can. Your place that always greets you when everything is falling apart. The place that takes you into his embraces and hugs you. So right now we see it as a burden but this room is actual your safe place and a positive thing THEY GREET ME AGAIN THE TOYS IN MY ROOM, LIKE PEOPLE IT'S AS CROWDED AS IF WE'RE OUT OF THE CITY i think namjoon wrote these lyrics. he has these little figures he collects in his studio and whenever he goes in his studio, they greet him and he pretends that they’re “humans”. and since he has a lot of those little figures, it’s as crowded as if he’s in the city. THE TV SOUND In these lyrics, you can hear the sample of the news anchor saying “while there’s still no cure yet for the virus”. It is a nod to the Corona Virus or Covid-19. I JUST HAVE TO CHANGE MY THOUGHTS THIS IS A JOURNEY THAT ONLY I CAN ENJOY Instead of thinking that you’re trapped in your room, start thinking of it as a travel that only you can enjoy, and try to find value even in the smallest thing that you do in your room. It’s all about perspective: if you think you’re trapped, you’re trapped; if you think you’re going on a travel in your room, you’re going on a travel. DELIVERY FOOD FILL IT UP WITH OPTIMISM, I'M FULL In an interview with Weverse magazine, j-hope explains the significance of his verse and the importance of perspective in helping him get through the difficulties of COVID-19 quarantine. “It all depends on how you look at it. Say there’s some kind of food. You might feel lonely while eating it by yourself, but if you forget about your loneliness for a minute and think, “there is no difference in food I would be eating out (with other people) anyway”, then it’s just like eating out. So even though I was stuck feeling lonely at home, I started to think of it as another trip instead, I thought of my room as my world, and delivery food as a three-star hotel meal. As you can tell from the title, I worked on that song by thinking about the way I endured this year so far.” GET ME OUTTA MY BLUES AND NOW I'M FEELIN' BRAND NEW This verse, defines, that if you look at things from a different perspective, you can feel better in this pandemic. For eg: If you cant go out, you can look at this from another POV like you’re inside because you are safe. This verse tells that I’m looking at another POV so I got out of my blues and I’m feeling new and great. PS: Small confession, I would love to be invited to dance to this song... So smooth

I'm also similar to Chalfant in the sense that I can do many things by myself like going to the movies and stuff and it is still fun, I miss those times as well but our new reality is not that bad either, especially with the boys by our sides. What Trale said, the songs take you back to a specific time/moment and experience... BE as an album sets out to be a chronicle of our common (global) and yet intimate experience (personal) of the pandemic: extended isolation, losing structure (what Chalfant said), even purpose, endless days, feeling sick to the stomach, but looking at imperfect things in a new light (broken is beautiful), finding some comfort in delivery food (JHope) escaping our rooms the thru zoom, our room being a safe refuge and our needing to dream beyond its walls at the same time (Suga). Fly to My Room provides an upbeat counterpart to Blue & Grey. The first 3 songs therefore form the reflective half of the album, dealing with those internal landscapes and moods. The tempo picks up in the latter half, after the skit. No spoilers.
