A dive into the many US vinyl variations of the Debut LP, and the 45 rpm singles that were released in support of it. Facebook Page USKISSVinylReference Instagram us_kiss_vinyl_reference
After watching this video, I was able to date my blue label #2 copy with black text I bought many moons ago. I've always thought it was missing the original inner sleeve, now you've showed it came with a generic one. Thanks, Mike!
With the way information like this is not indexed in any single place with a comprehensive picture guide to variations of pressings of a bands discography, this video is a nice guide to original KISS pressings. Usually I learn by accumulating memories of every variant misprint etc being listed on eBay but with KISS they have more freaking details to their different pressings than the Beatles the stones zeppelin sabbath combined. Thanks buddy. Btw I met a KISS army lieutenant on record store day he was assistant stage manager for the KISS reunion era. He also has a magnificent collection. At ease soldier
Just subscribed. Loved the video. I was brought here after the comments in KISS Army Things latest video. I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos. I just love all the tiny details of the different versions of these records. You have quite an awesome collection there! Thanks for sharing them and your knowledge. I think I have seen you on KISS My Wax, another great channel. I dig your channel, no small talk just straight into the records!
I was watching the video again. I saw that you have published many others videos that I will look at shortly. Congratulations again. I thought your narration was a little slow, but it's the right pace. Detailed information that gives the possibility to understand the differences and gives the collector the opportunity to verify his copies. I have all the 9001 and 7001 copies with all the variations and I never realized that, as you say, there are no 9001 covers with Kissin' time and there are no 7001 copies without Kissin' time. I've had them for more than 30 years, Yesterday night I checked mine watching the video and I had never noticed this detail. Good job!
I've always spoke at a slow/medium pace. I start to stutter when I get to talking fast. My goal was to give folks time to check their copies out along with me
I have everything up to Alive II published now. From here, I will drop a new episode every Friday night/Saturday morning. I was going to do that to begin with, but I had so many episodes in the can that I didn't want that far of a lead on myself. I still have 2 episodes that are unpublished that I will keep as a lead.
Lots of variation with Casablanca artists. I don't really collect anyone else on vinyl, but I would think that almost everyone that sold a lot back in the golden age of vinyl would have some variations in their releases
Love your videos, Mike. Rob here from Charlotte, NC. I've been collecting KISS vinyl and memorabilia since 1976. I have multiples of the debut like you (missing one promo and #2 blue label). So my question.. I do have a Blue Label #3 with the Sunset Blvd address, obviously Kissin' Time is there but on my Side II there are literally 6 songs! The last cut on side two is a repeat of "Deuce" from Side II. No misprint on label - it references all 5 songs correctly.. left justified. I just have an extra or duplicate of Deuce on Side II. Have you ever come across an anomaly like this? The only other LP I have with a duplicate cut is one of my Frampton Comes Alive albums. Invite your expertise / perspective here.
There are only US picture sleeves for: Flaming Youth/God Of Thunder I Love It Loud/Danger Tears Are Falling/Any Way You Slice It Crazy Crazy Nights/No, No, No Reason To Live/Thief In The Night Turn On The Night/Hell Or High Water Let's Put The X In Sex/Calling Dr. Love

Yep. Every Polygram reissue will have that. There is also a Sunset Blvd Filmworks label that has it. It's the one I showed with the logo to the right of the hole and a 206 on the cover
