This is the tenth episode of clips from our covid flip-flop thru-hike starting at Rabbit Ears Pass, Colorado going northbound then southbound. In this video we hike New Mexico and complete our CDT thru-hike at the Mexican Border!
Sorry for the delay in videos, we've been preparing for our 2024 Sobo hike of the CDT. Hoping to get this video series wrapped up by June 16th. Here we go again...
On our original hike in 2020, New Mexico went into lockdown for Thanksgiving, so we walked back from the border to Silver City to rent a car. This full-filled a two-week stay at home order as we were completely in the desert, with the exception of one weekly stop in Lordsburg to gather a food box. When we arrived at the stop sign for the highway walk to Silver City, a lovely couple we met on trail named Raindance and Chimp picked us up and gave us a magical, celebratory ride to our car rental ten miles away.
