I'm a 6 but I'm not religious. I wanted to comment to say that I appreciate the depth with which you guys are talking about this, since I recently discovered my enneagram type. I discovered many little things that could explain a lot of my tendencies as a 6 and what makes it worthwhile to me is that it's not drenched in bias or blind faith, which I respect a lot. Also this is the 3rd video within the last 2 days that I found was published on or near my bday last year (it's May 21st)....
Pure Awesomeness as usual learning not only about myself, but why I am who I am which is huge. Hence the past came up. Gave me freedom to let go and not be hard on myself because I am now better understanding me. You all Rock thank you so much for having the Debreif

As a 6, I know I have fears but I wouldn’t call myself fearful. To me that sounds so broken and incompetent. I think aware is more how I would describe 6’s. Is that wrong? I think we get a bad wrap of being scared of our own shadows, but honestly, I’m just always looking to be aware of what is true and not true and have deep desire to fight and protect if needed... is that considered being fearful? I love adventure and can be very spontaneous but I also assess what I may or may not need... just awareness. I don’t know, I think fear is used too often to describe 6’s. I can’t fully relate to waking in fear all the time but I am alert and mindful, I love truth and information. I plan to go sky diving, I will ride rollercoasters 🎢, I’ve been on part of the Appalachian trail, I want to do the Tour Divide... I am aware of many things that could go wrong but not afraid, well maybe a little... bears LOL. I’m not saying I have no fear... I do. I lost 3 family members last year, my brother was the most difficult loss. I’ve been held at knife point, I’ve been chased by a man in a car alone a night, I was stalked while in England, my first husband abandoned me and our 3 children. There’s been stuff and it hurts when I think about it all and never want to go through it again, but of course I can’t control all that. Anyway, just some thoughts. I tested as a 6 on the enneagram 3/4 times. What am I?
6s worry that's not funny, 5s can observe and find things that are amusing Seinfeld style. Monthy python is 5 style humor. Stand up too. Woody Allen is 6ish comedy.
Hilarious and funny aren't synonymous to me.. Overly neurotic behavior can express itself in hilarious ways. That's why 6s are endearing and hilarious to me. 5s are way too serious.. (I'm a 9)
There was something said that really resonated with me right now. “Bury your desires and God will bless the new ones.” - how do you bury your desires? What does that look like?
I don t know .... but for me laying them at the cross in my will maybe with visual or symbolic tools to help... and also replacement...instead of stealing, now work hard so that you have something to share kinda principle
Who writes the questions for the enneagram tests? How many different tests are there? How are the tests graded and interpreted? How does your enneagram identity help you to love others and God? Think!
Is the Sandals church based entirely off of the Enneagram or is it just heavily influenced by it? I knew the test was used in some Christian circles but as a Catholic I guess I'm just kind of confused because a test like this would have no place in a Catholic Mass. It's a test that I use outside of church life to understand aspects of my personality (6w5) but I would never dream of holding it to the same esteem as the Divine Liturgy nor would I interpret the Bible through its lens. I guess I'm also confused because I don't understand how non-denominational churches are structured in the first place. I do love the test and have had my friends and family take it too but it worries me that it might be being used as a foundation for worship. I could understand it as a means to cultivate a "personal relationship with Jesus-" as is the focus in a lot of non-denominational and Protestant circles- but I'm looking at it through the Nicene Creed, and it just doesn't hold up. Is this test meant to work in Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, or Episcopalian spaces? Or even Methodist or Presbyterian or any other denomination? Or is it just a Sandals thing?
I've heard that the high number of sixes was due to the original church group being catholic and the tendency for sixes to gravitate toward systems that provide emotional safety and knowing. The enneagram numbers are probably way more even outside of that initial survey.

There is a spiritual element to it. WE want Holy Spirit contact. God will give you the answers you need. You don’t need to turn to a personality test. John 1:14 And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us: and we (actually) saw His glory, glory as belongs to the (One and) only begotten Son of the Father full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception). 1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit; instead test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world. 2 Tim 3:2-5 For people will be lovers of self……..holding on to a form of godliness although they have denied its power. Avoid such people and keep far away from them. 2 Cor 11:14 And no wonder, since satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising then, if his servants also masquerade as a servant of righteousness. I see personality and psychological tests as just a tool to better understand ourselves and others. Not witchcraft or a cult. It’s proof that we are indeed many different parts of the body of Christ. No one better than another. It has helped me to grow as a Christian and strength my relationships with others. It’s all about balance.
