attractiveness is subjective, so that’s one reason why it’s impossible for everyone to be “hot”. like for example, they kept using Kendall Jenner as their standard for hotness but I can think of many different women that I find to be more attractive than her. but let’s say attractiveness was something defined by nature rather than individual and social perception, even then it would be impossible to have a world of only hot people because part of what makes attractiveness so special is it’s rarity (in a sense). we typically don’t encounter it every second of the day, so people we find attractive really stand out to us. if we only saw objectively attractive people every moment of our lives, they wouldn’t be as special to us.

evolution is driven by selective pressures and the gene pool is determined by who successfully passed on their genes. in todays world there are more selective pressures than just being objectively hot. take money as a huge example. you can be objected ugly and loaded and that will likely make you more fit/able to reproduce than someone moderately more ‘attractive’ yet broke

also evolution takes place over hundreds of thousands of years and we simply haven’t been around long enough for ‘attractiveness’ to become an important selection marker

idk why people are being so negative towards brooke and connor / tmg ?? this podcast is for a different demographic and audience than the tmg pod... hence the point of creating a different pod. additionally, if people don't like this on the tmg channel, just dont watch it tf. vote with your views of this pod if you don't want it to continue i like this pod and if i don't feel like watching then i jus dont watch and move on lmfao

while i agree that some people just won’t vibe with the podcast and maybe should just move along bc it’s not for them, i enjoy it a lot, but sometimes i disagree with their takes, especially on their views on billionaires, celebrities or high social people

But there are also people who, rather than giving any deep or constructive criticism, just say things like “when will they finally cancel this” or “They really fucked up with this one, TMG doesn’t understand their demographics”, which seems odd considering part of making new shows is expanding to other demographics.

It's valid to support someone while giving constructive critisism if necessary. Because then they continue being blind by their actions/words that may hurt others. Which is why accountability is so important. Especially people who has a large influence like B and C.

Based on my somewhat educated but mostly limited knowledge on biology I believe the reason we "aren't all 10s" is because on average we find people to be about 7 out of 10 attractiveness and 10s are the outlier. So if everyone was a 10 then that would just become the standard and we would think of them as 7s in this hypothetical world.

i think the reason not everyone is an 11 out of 10 is that beauty is so subjective to the culture we live in. the western/euro-centric view of beauty is not going to be the same as the african standard of beauty, the east asian standard, etc. it's all based on where you live and also influenced by the beauty trends of the time period you live in.

I'm taking a course on the human origins at asu. Eventually we will all look similar because genetics differences decrease over time in the gene pool. The selection of "hot genes" are selected through sexual selection but isn't the only factor that plays into choosing a mate to reproduce with. Essentially, the reason is because we are on our way towards that but people are keeping "less desirable" traits in the gene pool by reproducing with those traits.
