Comedian Jim Jefferies & I hang out in the Mancave & talk about British Stand-up vs. American Stand-up vs. Austrailian Stand-up, touring, working on Legit and one of his most epic drug fueled radio apperances on Opie & Anthony.
bert I love you but please get a more comfortable chair for your guests. You're chillin' out maxin relaxin in the leather couch in long sox and Jim is sitting in a chair like that James Bond movie where they whip his balls.
From Australia, you are the greatest comedian we have ever had. For some reason the media ignores you, Fuck em, I train 40 people a day in construction and show at least one of your routines every day. People are amazed and pissed off they didnt know who you were. They fuckin do now. cheers mate
@dfss csss Disagree...most people do not know the list you gave below! Much of their comedy is and vernacular doesn't translate well outside of Australia!
He only does this to comics he thinks are bigger than him.. he did it to Atell does it to Segura, guys who will openly make fun of him and briing him down a notch. But he's got this different attitude with up n coming comics.
Bert is a great host. Reminds me of the guy in a group or a smoking circle that always laughs at others jokes just because they love to laugh. Always refer to them as "the encourager" lol.
ya know im in a wheel chair and i know how frustrating it is when shit goes wrong with it, so i know how big a thing it was that jim did that for that guy.
Fuck me, this podcast is funny! That 'no you won't, I'm gonna get it out with a knife' line fucking killed me. Then the Hoff stories? Laughing thinking about it.
He backed off about calling the gun control video as viral, well here we are 8 years later and almost every single reaction channel has covered that video it's definitely viral now
Brilliant! Most hosts try to saturate the podcast with themselves,... this was the perfect level of active listening/contribution. Jim was perfect as always.
I assume you agonized for days over what to display, you neurotic metro... lol. JK, liking the video feed, Jim seems pretty real, why aren't you two Grade 10 shitfaced doing this episode??
Burt is so good at making his guests feel comfortable so they feel ok about opening up and telling long stories. I wish more interviewers and podcasters could follow his example.
bert you have inspired me to run live you tube shows me and some friends smoke weed and joke around and bs thank you for giving me that courage to just do this shit love these man cave shows
Bert, Jim's just doing Norm Macdonald as his "Canadian" accent hahah.... Us Maritimers (I'm from Dartmouth {The Darkside}, Nova Scotia) have a much greasier accent, with a quasi Scotch/ Irish lilt... And Newfoundlanders have an even thicker accent generally. 'Course the pilot isn't necessarily an East Coaster. We don't really say "aboot" as much, more like "where ya to, by?", "bud got right liquored"...etc.. Sick P.O.D.-cast, Monsieur Machine.
They are making an American version of the danish movie Klown. I could see Jim playing Casper. If you like Jims comedy, you should see that movie. Just get over the language barrier. (ironically it's a Scandinavian movie)
they are Air plane socks, they stop DVT, what Gunnter has in Ligit. Its because he sits around all day talking over his guests. ! ! LOVE Jim, go the Aussies :)
Is the intro from some Podcast audio pack? Because i've heard it on other channels. Also, the sample of the intro is from Kraftwerk's 1975 track "Uranium" and if you like music, you probably heard the same sample in New Order's "Blue Monday" Listen for yourself. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ePW52C5YBbA.html
1:29:38 I saw this doc on a guy who designed waterslides in the US, I can't remember what show it was. Anyways he did like the highst waterslide, or whatever. But people would lift off into the air when they went over the bumpy curvy bit... They basically solved that by restricting it to only be ridden by people higher than a certain weight, because they'd be too heavy to take off - and they installed this catcher net thing that was meant to prevent people if they did take off, to go over the edge.. Anyways here's the fucking.. kicker: Some kid eventually got on, obviously - he took off, and his body went under the catcher-thing above the ride, but not his head: And his fucking.head. came. OFF
Your podcasts are unreal Bert, perfect way to start the day with to get in an awesome mood, thanks! PS. Netflix, make that series about the retired pop star.
Comedy is comedy, the audience is the judge. Much of this dscussion is earnest and entertaining. Some of the anecdotes relating to women are cringeworthy and oblivious in the delivery, and I lose the humor.
Oz kiwi Irish humour is similar. As long as the stories about yourself are way worse than the stories about ( importantly) large groups in order your family, friends, Country etc all good. but we dont normally take down individuals unless they are public figures and its the truth.
bert could you zoom the camera in just a little bit for a closer view? I think it would look a little better. anyways love your vids. keep up good work
I would like to support your merch but %50 above the price of Nike,Reebok and a few others. I am not cheap I am just not going to spend thirty for one tee shirt not now not ever.
Heck yeah! Brisbane is soooo starved of entertainment! Come to Australia Bert you are awesome! Love all your stuff & hearing about your daughters!! Also really enjoy watching you as a guest on Joe Rogan and End of the World Podcast was classic! Anyways come to Australia!
Going to see Jim Jefferies in Detroit September 23! Love both of these guys. Having said that, Bert is the kind of fat you can hear from a distance #bertisfat
ceebee27sts You're right, but I think hand-held mics actually work for performers like Jim Jefferies, just like Jimi Hendrix used to always wear his guitar to partys because it made him relax.
ohcrocs Yea I get that but they're just hanging out in the man cave having a normal conversation. Not performing so much. Eh, they just looked like they could be more comfortable.
Deffo agree that new material always trumps, I mean Robin Williams was great but he did repeat sooooo many jokes/bits for years from actual shows into Talkshow appearances....hilarious 2 or 3 times but gets old after that.
If you guys weren't holding mics to your faces, I'd swear the mics were in another room under some blankets.. I had to have my shit turned WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY up to hear anything
