Hi Selma, thanks for doing the math for us, saves a lot of time! You made me want to wear knitted skirts again after I swore never to again as I used to have to wear them as a kid! Birthday coming up, may be I should send a hint to my mother in law!

I've barely begin watching your podcast and couldn't wait to make a comment. I was so excited to hear what you have to say about skirts because I made one myself about 5 years ago. I tried to write down what I was doing as I did it but wasn't very successful. I'd like to duplicate the skirt but don't think I would be able to. It had flounces around the bottom to give it more legroom

Finally got to finish this episode just now - inspiring as always, Selma! I’m being completely project-enabled by your lovely Arwen and the Espace Tricot cowl too... and I’m feeling like I want to cast on something purple as well! Thanks for the lovely shout-out for my yarns, and please do feel free to use them however you’d like, for this KAL or for something in the future.

Wales Street Knits hello there! Thank you so much for watching but especially for the stunning yarns!! I think I have chosen the pink finally!! It has taken a few days to make a decision! I think I will probably keep one or two skeins for other prizes so thank you! 💕😍

So I just had to watch this episode as well..love your Mary tunic (which I mistook as the branches and buds yoke)..whats the yarn weight? And love love love the colour of the Arwen sweater!! Lucky you to be able to buy direct from the factory in Uruguay! Would love to hear more about that!

Your cat's so sweet. I was cracking up watching her clawing at the fur behind you, especially before you noticed. LOL. And what a super special Mother in Law you have that she would bring you all those beautiful yarns. xoxo

How nice to see you again!! My mother knit many skirts for both of us and always used a turned waist band. She used the non roll elastic from Canada as Brazil (where I grew up) did not have any. May I suggest that you give your insert pics a few more seconds for us to view??

Selma - I had to laugh out loud at your gifted yarn "haul" from your MIL - that's completely something my family members would do (they think I knit much faster than I do). So kind of you to share for the KAL :-D

I’m not sure how I found your podcast, but I’m glad I did! I really enjoyed your explanations and all your projects. I’m so glad to see Kristin’s Voolenvine “ Enjoy the Silence”, as I was able to get a skein, for the first time, on her most recent update. I love it even more seeing it on your “work” socks! I’m looking forward to binge watching back episodes.

Always nice to catch up with you. I'm a bit behind with the podcast that I like and that is due to my shoulder operation and I had a very bad flu infection. So now I'm back with some knitting not to long of course and watching all the podcast that I missed. But I love watching yours it's like listening to my sister. Keep up the good work Selma, see you next time

Dear selma,when I watched one of your podcast I said Hello to you and you answered me with a cheerful Hello and it was very nice.İ am a turkish lady (63) living in Bodrum turkey.At the first podcast I realşzed that you are a smart,talented,goodlooking young woman,and your knitting choices are faboulus.I decided to watch your podcasts from the very first one.When it comes to the 12. Episode,I learned that your father is Turkish.İt is a shock for me,and I got proud of you twice.your genes are a combination of different nations and it is amazing,that makes you such a clever and pretty lady I think.İ am sure that your children are also beautşful and confident persons because of their father added something to them plus yours.İ also want to say hi to your father ,and say something in turkish,Tanrı hepinizi korusun. (Sorry,my english is not perfect,but love doesn’t need words) Bye,my dear.

Thank you for your kind words! We have a real mix of genes in this family!! blessings to you in return. Unfortunately, since this video, my father has passed away. He has all the blessings now. I was not sure if I should tell you or let you watch the episodes and find out but I thought it would be cruel to say nothing. Soon after this video his health started to fail and he did not recover. Take care my dear! selma

Hi, love the purples/violets you use...I just came to realize how much I like that color... My first sweater was mohair as well, thicker, maybe bulky, I was 14 on the photo I have, so I must have been 13 when I did it :)

hello this is the first podcast of yours I've watched and I love it. may I ask what we're the needles you showed at 23 mins in? (they were almost black in colour interchangeable circulars. you knitted the getting warmer cowl). tnk u x
@littlebigknits
@littlebigknits 6 лет назад
Those are the Lykke needles. they can be bought as fixed or as interchangeables and are made of polished drift wood. They are wonderful wood needles although I have complained about the joins not being great. I bought an interchangeable set a while back. When the cables are on well, they are smooth and wonderful but sometimes getting them on has been a challenge. Thank you so much for checking my podcast out!!

Is your driftwood tree made with long pieces put into a container? I've been researching a driftwood or other type of tree that I can decorate year-round with various things. I love yours! Thanks for your wonderful podcast!
@littlebigknits
@littlebigknits 6 лет назад
Carolyn R it is indeed. A bucket filled with sand and then I covered that with fabric. I am not quite sure how to decorate it for the rest of the year or to take it down. What were you thinking of using to decorate it with?
@carolyn_r
@carolyn_r 6 лет назад
My initial inspiration was a wooden tree in the window of, I believe, Woolyn Brooklyn at Christmas that had all kinds of handmade pompoms. I haven't decided but probably different types of mini lights, maybe shawls like you said, I loved your yarn skeins! I think it will be spontaneous and that usually starts a creative flow into unknown territory! I'll keep you posted!
@carolyn_r
@carolyn_r 6 лет назад
My initial inspiration was a tree in the window of Woolyn Brooklyn at Christmas (I'm not able to attach a photo here) They had all kinds of handmade pompoms on it and I loved it...so I was looking for that wooden base which was pretty structured out of wooden slats. I couldn't find that exact tree, it might be a retail-type display item but then I saw driftwood at an online supplier and was thinking of doing what you have done. I'm not sure how I'd change it throughout the year, probably involve different mini lights and knitted things. I'll let you know!
