Well, if an entire Nation would understand this,(or believe this is happening) it would mean the Government wouldn't be around for very long anymore, since every citizen would start to feel betrayed by their own government, doesn't matter how well the government might be. Every Government on the planet does this, it's the only way to keep Citizens "inline". So it's a good thing to understand if the Government is corrupt, and if every citizen feels betrayed by their Government, it's the Government's fault for being retarded.

Yes.I think I would laugh as Chomsky is rather idealistic concerning power dynamics, comparing to other european philosophers such as Foucault, they had a tv debate in the 80's. If the concept of manufacturing consent can function in mass media, why not through the medical bureaucratic authority behind close door?
