Can’t believe this is already our 15th episode! Thank you to all of you who watch our videos! We chat about a couple different topics in here, including some recommendations in the horror, thriller, and romance categories. Enjoy!
Thanks for answering my question! I loved your answers. I just started reading the Narnia series to my kids this year. And goosebumps were my favorite in the 90s as a kid lol.
@@dontbookatme they enjoyed the lion the witch and the wardrobe so far and we followed it with the movie of course. I don't read them in the right order, I found out a better order to read the series that makes more sense. I just picked up prince caspian at a thrift store yesterday so that was awesome.
In reference to kids and reading, my son loved books and going to the library to borrow books or buy books but once he started high school he stopped reading. I know its a normal process but it still breaks my heart a little bit to know he isn't reading now although he will tell you in univeristy he is reading school books. Hopefully that will change when he is a bit older.
Thank you so so much for answering my question!! I loved seeing your recommendations! I have had The September House on my list, and have not yet picked up Bird Box, but I just got Josh Malerman's newest book Incidents Around the House TODAY. I agree that I don't love gruesome horror, but I do particularly love haunted house books. Two of my favorite thrillers that I felt bordered on horror were The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware and Home Before Dark by Riley Sager. I also love that Cory loves cheesy romance, me too! I haven't read any Emily Henry, Abby Jimenez, OR Sophie Cousens yet! I know you mentioned you have an in-person book club, but would you ever consider a virtual book club where we can chat with you guys? You may have that already but I might be out of the loop!
Do you follow us on IG? I did announce on there about a virtual book club that I’m starting-first meeting is in August! I’d love for everyone interested to fill out a form, which I have linked in my bio on IG. @aloveforlifeandliteracy
@@dontbookatme I must have missed your post announcing the virtual book club but I'm glad to hear it's happening! I just filled out the form :) so excited to hear more about it!
Bird box the BOOK is amazing. The movie is terrible because I read the book first. Sometimes I feel like if you watch the movie first you're viewing experience isn't ruined
