How do y’all handle classroom teachers brining their class to PE early? We have a 5 minute break in between each class, but often teachers will bring their classes 3-4 minutes early. Doesn’t seem like a lot of time just thinking about it, but that 5 minutes in between classes is everything to re-group, get a breather, or go to the restroom. Thanks for the help!
We have an expectation where they just wait in the hall until I wave them in so they might be early but if I'm not ready yet they just wait at the door, Usually though I'll just bring them in and have them do a warmup while I'm setting up and transitioning - I hear you on the Bathroom breaks they are ESSENTIAL and non-negotiable 😂

I'm a brand new teacher who just started. How do you handle kids who tell or ask you to play different games and activities in the middle of a lesson, acting as if they are the teacher?

At 11:20 you talk about that you haven't played dodgeball in pe for years. What about kickball do you ever play that? At my school the kids only want to play dodgeball and kickball and do nothing based on curriculum. What can I do to help them get used to PE being done like class instead of recess?
@@ATGDAWG55 I don't do kickball either bc it's only a couple kids moving at a time so I don't feel it's a great use of my PE Minutes. If you explain the why behind everything you do it will help, but since your new and apparently the last teacher didn't really have a quality program it will take time to change the PE Culture, in 2-3 years you'll see a huge difference if you keep holding high expectations and develop good relationships with your kiddos
@ThePESpecialist One of the main reasons why I don't play kickball is because half the kids don't play. They stand in the outfield and let the ball go by them while they talk to friends and when kicking, they don't kick, they let people cut them in line so they can not kick and talk to friends instead.
@@ATGDAWG55 That happens with my middle school aged kids so that is why I remind them to kick and play because I count participation as.part of their PE grade
