Kids and older people were still wearing clogs in Lancashire towns to 1950s and even still seen in 1960s.

Children in Lancashire were wearing clogs much later than the 1920s. My parents wore them in the 1930s and beyond.

My great grandfather was a clog fighter in Rochdale. Used to do it as prize fighting.

most working class clogs had a single leather 2 hole each side lace rather than the fancy clasp they also had hob nails ti increase grin as well as irons the purring well they fought arms locked at the shoulder shin kicking the naked bit was they fought without trousers or leggings so they could see first blood the rules were let go or first blood wins the rumour about death is a load of twaddle it were t sudden death a quick kick a gush of blood all done like the clogs thm selves were prime fighting gear come and have go

Eyelets were invented comparatively late. Prior to that most clogs used clasps and buttons
