In the second episode of our series on Appalachian innovations in education, Casey Jakubowski described an innovative place-based project in a rural New York school in the Appalachian region. This unique effort was designed to help at-risk special education students learn more about their community, history, and research through investigating their local cemetery. Jakubowski also demonstrated how the project engaged both local education priorities and state standards.
