Serving Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, the Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center (ARCC) is one of 15 Regional Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education to help state education agencies build their capacity to implement initiatives that improve educational outcomes for all students, close achievement gaps, and improve the quality of instruction.
Great video! I know from experience that capacity building is complex. It is important that you implement a time-tested process with essential steps such as assessing your goals, creating a supportive learning environment, implementing a follow-up plan, and evaluation. Capacity building is more than just training and includes: - Human resource development, the process of equipping individuals with the understanding, skills and access to information, knowledge and training that enables them to perform effectively. - Organizational development, the elaboration of management structures, processes and procedures, not only within organizations but also the management of relationships between the different organizations and sectors (public, private and community).
