Scott: Do you know what your problem is ? When you look at the world you see the world instead of whatever the Narrative masters see. You see the world.
Free Speech example. How many times have you noticed in the last 10 years that you had to really watch what you say at work because you know it will get you in trouble.
How about telling people that government health insurance, government housing , government student loans will cost more than if the private sector handled things. Social security isn't a government giveaway since people get back far less than if their taxes were in Vanguard index funds.
@@chrislastnam6822 -- Well, I personally have done quite well. I informally retired in my early 40s. At 62 I got SS and my two minor kids also got SS until they turned 18. I didn't set out to game the system but essentially I have done just that.
willpower & calories - I had an ethics course in Harvard where the professor said there was no such thing as addiction, just lack of willpower. I was so angry with him. He wasn't uniformly horrible though, one of the textbooks was 'Affirmative Action Around the World', by Thomas Sowell, which I've kept on my shelf for many years.
Why were you angry? Some folks can start and stop taking "addictive" substances. This was often seen in GIs in Vietnam. "Willpower" seems to be a useful thing to have and debilitating if you don't have it.
@@GilmerJohn I've lived in a household with an alcoholic. There was no seeming lack of will to quit, but rather, the need for outside help, which was finally obtained, and the alcoholism stopped. Certainly willpower is necessary, but often not sufficient. Use of a substance itself, even if it is easy to become addicted to, does not create addiction.
I like Scott's idea at 38:23 of reframing the definition of Marxism to Marksism. If the toy company had survived, their Saturday morning TV ads may come to mind in a phrase such as "The Communist Manifesto. By MARX!" But Scott's idea of it meaning the marking of people as oppressors in order to justify doing things to harm those oppressors is something everyone can identify with.
Few people in the 20th Century believed that smoking was "good for you." In the 30s, cigarettes were called "Coffin Nails." Yeah, a lot of tobacco ads featured doctors but folks knew that it wasn't a helpful habit.
Liberal/democrat type people believe they are virtuous for their beliefs and conservative voters are selfish for theirs. Will be hard to change their minds until their virtue turns on them in a big way.
Depending on the age of the person, I would relate Marxism to the movies…SOLENT GREEN, LOGANS RUN….HUNGER GAMES…???….apply the definition to a visual cue they will understand?
Lately I start my day with Timcast then come here. Does Scott still have beef with Tim? I stopped listen to Scott around the time People were calling him Vaxx Adams, but I'm back because ultimately he's entertaining, funny and insightful, even if I don't agree with everything.
@@johnmusser8925 Eliza Bleu is from another planet and Jack Murphy was banished, never good to listen to. I'd rather listen to Crossland even though I disagree with almost anything he says
The problems with "will power" based diets is that many folks feel like they are starving. Keto and carnivore diets satisfy most folks with few or any carbs.
The basic question of Palestine- Israel conflict is…does Israel have a right to exist? Does the world accept the Jewish claim of exile and return after thousands of years? How was this decision made?
It was derived from the "right of conquest." For the purpose of maintaining peace and stability you don't re-fight old battles every generation. Some folks don't understand this but most rational folks do.
I just want to ask you a few questions about your support of Joe Biden. I mean he is the president and you guys did vote for him... See what I did there? Hope that helps with your understanding of palestinians not supporting hamas.
Food ADDICTION is EXACTLY what is happening. When you consume a High Carbohydrate Diet, you end up with both Leptin Resistance and Insulin Resistance. Leptin controls your feeling of Satiation and Insulin controls when you are in Fat Storage Mode. So with Resistance to these 2 Hormones, you rarely feel Satiated (Food Addiction) and you are stuck in Fat Storage Mode. Soda Pop, Fruit Juice, Desserts, and Snacking on typical SnackFoods are 3/4 of the battle. If you can reduce or eliminate Soda Pop, Fruit Juice, Desserts, and Snacking between Meals, you can reduce your Leptin & Insulin levels to the point where Cravings and Hunger are reduced and you begin to burn Fat as a Fuel when you stop eating. You’ll not need to Count Calories or determine Macros. Just eat when you feel hungry until you feel Satiated and you will lose your Food Addiction as well as the pounds.
We are surrounded by temptation. By the way, I don’t need your advice, as I’m thin and fit. But, every so often…that dessert tray at the restaurant looks inviting and then I pass, as I know I’d be sabotaging myself.
@@notidentified4031 - Indeed! The Foods and Packaging on the inside aisles of the Grocery Store are packed with Tempting, Addictive Ultra-Processed Foods to sabotage any new Diet Change Lifestyle. It is best to stick with the Single Ingredient, Low Carb, Whole Foods displayed along the walls. But one need not be perfect. Even with an occasional Cheat Day, progress will still occur! It is the overall decrease in hunger by getting back to optimal Leptin levels that makes the difference.
Scott brings up the very reason I chose not to take engineering classes: I never wanted a problem I was facing to be something random and beyond my control, like a bad cable. I didn't want to do everything right myself and still have something go wrong with my work because some freaking component went bad for no reason. That actually happened at a place I worked. Whole network went down because the cable between the server and the network went bad for no reason.
22:48: Judge people as individual, not as part of their group traits. 23:22: Judge people as part of their group traits (if it might harm Jewish Americans). Scoitt, please clarify why Jewish Americans are the only group you exempt from your first truism.
Scott has said many times they are special and are just smarter. Funny how DEI never lowered their enrollment at ivy League schools . Almost like they run it
-- Well, it's a narrow form of antisemitism. Indeed, a significant number of Jews (religious and otherwise) share that view. It's a variation of the claim that POCs can't be racist. But the Jewish state is 75 years old which is older than, say, independent Ukraine or independent Vietnam or most of the independent states in Africa. To get twisted up in it's right to exist makes one question your motives. Indeed, I consider present day "anti-zionist" Jews to be self-hating.
I know huh, how disheartening. Everything packaged are chemicals, the “real food” is tainted, the veggies/fruits gmo. Is it all on purpose? I remember when big corps started buying up the organic farms.i guess they made them offers they could not refuse. 😞I have a few fruit trees I planted and do a few veggies. Such a huge difference in taste too. 👍
THE problem with modern food is that grains and potatoes are a cheap form of calories and bulk. That's why chicken, shrimp, and fish are often "coated" and fries are a part of meals ordered after 10AM.
@@kathymayes4290 -- Weill, you have to use common sense. It's easier to "eat healthy" all year round today than at any time in history. It's also easier to eat "unheathy".
Really? A lot of folks find it easy to pick up the Keto or Carnivore diet which is essentially Cold Turkey on sugar & starch (& even artificial sweet stuff.
@@GilmerJohn Yeah, I’ve had good luck with $ store USB-C cables lasting though some of them have issues with Qualcomm Qi/USB Power Delivery fast charge.
“Democracy will die because of democracy, just as the Constitution will fall because of the Constitution. It is an odd irony, but freedom is both a blessing and a dangerous thing.” -Rishi Sharma to American oil tycoon Ken Fletcher in “The Holy Man Trilogy”
😂😂😂 OMG❗🐔🐔🐓🐔🐔 Just let the roster free-range Scott. Like, literally... let him sleep outside at night or "forget" to lock the coop. 😮 Your impression of a clutch of hungry hens was hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣
@13:36 You're completely off in the woods on this one Scott. I'd like you to find the longest span of footage from "1/6" you can, and watch it with a film-maker. Then I want you to ask them to grade it as though you were watching a movie made by a film student, I comment about the glaring "errors". I watched parts from inside the buildings on the night of 1/5. If your film-maker friend is worth 2 bits, one of the first comments he's going to make is that it couldn't have happened on 1/6. The "insurrection" (events happening outside the building) happened on 1/6, but most of the footage from inside the building (Bisonboy at the podium) actually happened the night before. The detail your film-making friend is going to notice, is that the buildings are lit 100% by artificial light. No ambient light coming in through windows, and bouncing off walls...ie, it was shot at night. Personally, I watched it while it was livestreaming on Twitter when it happened, so that's how I know when it really happened. But, in watching clips afterward, it dawned on me that I was seeing footage I'd watched on the night of 1/5, mixed with bits from 1/6.
Some mail order chicken places send baby chicks in boxes and they add baby roosters to keep the hens warm. It is possible to sex the chicks if trained. Yuppy!
Hey Scott. Now that you are talking about the lack of free speech can you also start talking about how it is illegal to own land? A lot of people think they own it but they don’t. You rent it. The government may not call it rent but that is what it is.
