I'm not Indian, but love cooking Indian food. My favorite is saag paneer. I've been making it for years and mine is better than what we can get at our local Indian restaurants. I knew it had to be healthy with all the spices in garam Masala, spinach, fenugreek leaves, and ginger and garlic. Sometimes I add lamb as well, but its good even without. To eat it more healthily, I just skip the Naan bread.

He's not saying olive oil is not good, its good for cooking mediterranean dishes, not Indian. It depends on the region you're living in India, if you're living in South India its coconut oil (cold pressed), eastern India then mustard oil (cold pressed) not any kind of refined oil that are popular in the market.
