I have a large set teardrop stone that's green under flourecent, sunlight is pink and under soft light it's amber/yellow colored. I've taken it to multiple jewelers, and I've heard it could be ametrine, and glass. From everything I've ever heard of zultanite, it's what I have. How do I get to someone who's actually sure?

Hi! Good video. So is the zultanite jwelry sold on Etsy from Turky fake lab zultanite, because most of it are affordable gems?

Hi, not all will be fake however there are a lot of fakes sold. Generally it’s pretty easy to tell the difference (when you know what to look for) as the fake glass people sell as Zultanite or Csarite will have a very strong colour change between a very bright green and bright pinky colour whereas genuine Zultanite has a softer colour which shifts throughout the day in different lighting. Such a beautiful gemstone.

is zultanite in the same family as ametrine?
@pauldeasygemstones

No-Ametrine is quartz. Specifically, quartz that has both purple color (amethyst) and yellow color (citrine) in the same crystal. Zultanite is a different chemistry and crystal structure altogether

Hi Monica. Great question. First of all, congrats on having 3 pieces of Zultanite. It is definitely a rare item that would attract gem collectors. There can be a wide range of prices depending on the color change characteristics, size, and clarity are all important. I would first try to get it appraised. Of course, appraisals cost money. You can also just go online and search for people or companies selling zultanite. That might at least give you a ballpark price. Zultanite.org is a great place to start. Hope it helps and good luck!

I'm sorry sir, but with all due respect, you ramble on and on and gave very little explanations that were almost all historical explanations. DISSAPOINTINGLY................. No Demonstration.......Am I missing Something Folks ??????

Sorry you didn't enjoy the lesson. Fortunately, you are not required to watch further lessons. I'm sure you can find another gem channel more to your liking.
