Crazy Sock Lady I would like to know who gave baby boys permission to grow up so fast. Well he did give me a granddaughter. That I can love and hug on.

Socks-for-Mum It is SO true that you don’t realize unless you deal with it. Yes, there is no sleeping if it storms! Even with her medicine we can’t be in the bedroom. My husband usually goes out to the couch and then Chloe does better out there. She will lay down in this little corner behind the couch where she feels safest I guess? So her meds at least calm her down that much. I’m not sure why she won’t stay in the bedroom even when we give her medicine. But she panics and paces back and forth all over the bedroom and will jump at my husbands side of the bed when she goes by. Lol If it storms during the day I have to make sure all bedroom and bathroom doors are shut and keep her in the living/dining/kitchen areas with me or she will be in and out of the showers and has been known to destroy workout mats... 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s insane.. if we are gone it’s the worst. She is 81 lbs and huge. We crate both dogs when we leave the house... but as soon as a storm starts she tries to break out. She has done some serious damage to crates but never managed to completely escape - thank goodness. I truly think she would tear the bedroom up if she got out of the crate during a storm. It’s like she becomes a completely different dog! 😬 The vet put her on Trazadone HCL 100mg. She can have 2-3 tablets, 2 hours prior to a storm. Even 3 tablets don’t completely calm her. She is like super dog. 🤣

This all sounds exactly like my dog. When we lived up in the Rockies the thunder cracks so loud and so close that once when we came back Brownie had bent the crate bars to get out. We inherited her from my FIL who lived in TX (where we now are) and I always wondered if she was caught outside in a terrible storm once. She also calms down if I go downstairs and lay down on the couch. What's up with that?? I guess they think that when we are in our beds we are out cold but if we are on the couch it is not 'real' sleep and we can jump up quickly. I'm going to get some Trazadone. That is what our CO vet gave her but as you said, you have to anticipate the storm. I hated how drugged she was with that other eyelid they have coming down. Oh well.....they are our babies and I we love them but I totally get your 'rushing' home before the storm broke. Our lives seem to revolve around the weather pattern now instead of babies in their cribs...LOL

Heather Thompson Yes! Major plus to the move. She did wonderful when we lived in Yuma AZ! We only had.. 2 storms the entire time we lived there I think? And they didn’t even last 15 minutes probably. Lol
