I would love to hear a discussion about limiting the franchise, especially about what criteria would be used to decide who gets to vote. I too used to believe in a universal franchise, but as I get older I'm also having doubts. A good start would be to limit voting to registered taxpayers who actually paid income taxes in the year previous to the election. EDIT: South Africa started handing out a small stipend to all unemployed people during Covid. It was so politically popular that the government hasn't been able to stop it since.

We don't need to limit the franchise; we need to return the Federal government to its Constitutional limits.

you couldn't limit the franchise, because all you would get is whoever gets to set the limits will set them so that they're the only ones to get a vote.
