Question that metal scoop bit u took out of the manifold at (3.20) what is it and is it needed as mine would move under full throttle and get stuck in the secondary butterfly making it get stuck open and full rev i cant find any info anywhere about it and ur video is the only one that iv seen it any help would be appreciated thank you
What did you do with the plug for the old carby? I’ve got an issue with mine. My carby on the car has a 4 prong plug and the cars harness is a 2 prong plug

Hey mate what size was it, im thinking about doing the 330cfm conversion, what's the fuel like compared to the old one I'm currently getting 28/100 5inch lift and 35s
Hi, The carb is sized to 330 CFM. Fuel economy you could expect the same if not better than your old carb, depending on your right foot. We get around avg 22-24/100km with standard tyres and 2inch lift. 28 is pretty normal for a vehicle with larger tyres as the larger tyres puts a lot of load on the engine when starting to move. Also a contributing factor is weight such as bullbars, drawers etc.
Hi there where are you located? I'm having carby issues atm I think the carby isnt getting enough fuel and the fuel filter seems to drain randomly every now and then especially when I come to a set of lights. It's like I have to pump the throttle and brake and keep doing that until I stop then keep the revs up at above 1000 RPM. I did find out that the previous owner used silicone around it. Which is a big no no. Anyway I've been quoted $850 to recondition the top end. Does this seem a fair price ? A Facebook friend of mine said he put a 350 Holley carb on and an intake pump and external pump and a small fuel cell in the engine bay. But I have no idea how to do all this shit lol. Hello Ethan. Yes, we have supplied a LOT of these for turbo application. There is some preparation work we can do to the Holley to have it ready for Turbo. This work will let you bolt the Holley onto a standard Patrol engine and run just fine until you fit the Turbo. The Holley is a robust carburettor; with some work on the diaphragm they can handle up to 30PSI. No trouble for most Turbo conversions using 5 to 12 PSI. You will just need to rejet when turbo fitted to suit your boost. There are some that have prefered our 480cfm Holley for Turbo use, citing less lag, quicker spool and more usable torque at lower revs. Feel free to call us at shop - BH 07 54933788.
@@recarbaustralia5772What mods to the carby are required if only running a low psi, say 5 to 10 psi boost? And is that for a gas setup, or a straight petrol setup? I'm interested in turboing my tb42 but want to keep the carby and keep it solely on petrol, reckon it's possible?
@@tris-ris0184 when we build a 330 or 480 for turbo use we fit a solid float, installTeflon seals and make a few other mods to cope with boost pressures. Almost exactly the same mods are made if we build a Holley for gas. So you can run both turbo and gas with these carbs. However that's a tricky set-up to get right. Yes a TB42 with turbo and one of our modified carbs is possible, many of our customers have done this. Personally I'd forget turbo and just go with the 480, it makes a lot of power and is far less hassle to set up and tune.
Hi, Yes many benefits include an increase in power and torque down low in the RPM. Also better reliability as it is a simpler carb with the emission devices not present. The factory carbs are getting harder to find replacement parts for and this is also another reason why people are fitting Holley's, not to mention cheaper to service and maintain in the future.
@@JETBYE There are now three carburettors we're fitting to the TB42 - 38mm Weber generic, 330 Holley, and 480 Holley. The 38 will only suit manual transmissions. It doesn't offer any more top end power but gives better pull off the line and in low rpm use. The 330 Holley provides better pull off the line and more midrange power. The 480 Holley improves on all levels - better off the line, stronger midrange, and improved top end power. All three when driven in the same manner will deliver the same fuel consumption.
Hi, here at Recarb Australia we only do carburettors. EFI conversion is a lot of work, to simply end up with the EFI version of the TB42 that Nissan themselves built from 1992 onwards. There are some EFI conversion topics on www.patrol4x4.com if you want to have a look

@@deanharris9375 the 350 and 500 Holleys are V8 carbs, they'll run on an inline 6 but the fueling calibration is not correct. Our 330 and 480 are specifically calibrated for inline 6 engines. The 330 gives instant smooth response off idle with a stronger midrange. The 480 increases midrange torque and adds some top end power as well
