If you’ve ever wanted to use Photoshop to create a fun body paint effect (like Darth Maul from Star Wars), this is how I do it.
In this video I talk about the lighting and then how to use channels, smart filters and more to get a painted look where you can see the skin texture coming through.
I did the retouching work on my Wacom 27QHD, which is great for work like this:

How about Frequency separation? If we are just out for the color - leaving the texture as it is.

K1NGM4RV it’s probably a good way to go as well. I think when I initially worked on this frequency separation wasn’t the big yet!
