Episode 43: Goalie Czar - 2018/2019 Winter Championship Game Cerebral Czars vs XXX Stars.
This was Game 4 of the True North Hockey 2019 Winter Playoffs. The winner of this game would win the Championship for our division. We had finished the season 1st and XXX Stars had finished right behind us. They had already beaten us once in the playoffs in a nothing game so this was for bragging rights and winner take all.
The 1st period was very cautious and both teams played strong defensively. In the 2nd our team took a small lead going into the 3rd. The 3rd period is where XXX woke up and gave us a run for our money. They had over 10 shots on net and it come down right to the last second of the game.
Final score was a 4-3 win for the Cerebral Czars! A really great team effort by the Czars and every player contributed to that win. Especially gratifying when this was a back to back championship win having won the summer league in 2018.
