@vcval Keep in mind that the headlights, fan and other parts have their own relays. Even our power windows have indi relays. So that is just for power nothing else.

Big Daddy Thanks for the straight forward no BS description. This really helps! I replaced my 460 starter in my Fairlane with a Powermaster XS. The problem that I am having is that the bendix pops out and hits the flexplate but won’t engage or spin the flexplate. I discovered my wiring is still set up like factory And I hope this helps!! And my fender selonoid looks like yours with everything on the battery side LOL! I need to find your fix for this! Thanks!

They make a bus that you can bolt to the inner fender and run a jumper to. This sounds like a shim or starter issue possibly.

Just a hint: depending on the material they are build, permanet magnets demagnetise when heated. Usually neodium magnets are "champions" when it comes to this.

@Formula400Pontiac ROFL that is why Jeff didn't go under the car, the last time we did that several school children in Wellingtons ran in and tried to drag him "back" to the ocean...

I did something similar, but instead if the small wire that hooks to the solenoid on the starter side, I used a strip of copper from the main positive post at the starter & the small solenoid post on the starter solenoid. Then when the main starter cable is energised, so is the solenoid. I've done this on Chevys and on my 77 H-D Sportster since the rear pipe is bad about shorting the starter cable on the Sportster. Unless actually starting the bike, that wire is not energised when the motor is running.

Hey guys love the informative videos. Question: When doing this conversion on a fox with a starter from a SN95 would it be possible to eliminate the fox starter solenoid located on the fender apron completely & just transfer all of the wires from the original fox solenoid to the newer solonoid located next to the newer SN95 starter? Thanks in advance & keep up the good work.

Judging by this tech article from Ford, yes. I haven't done much FOX stuff since I left Mustang Monthly in 2004, so I hope this helps. www.fordracingparts.com/download/instructionsheets/FordInstShtM-11000A50A75B50B75.pdf

I like the NPD Relay you used. There are a few different ones on the NPD site. Which one did you use to fit this starter ?
