Great question. Sand started her own newspaper, published in a workers' co-operative. She was a member of the provisional government of 1848, issuing a series of fiery manifestos. While many Republicans were imprisoned or went to exile after Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte's coup d’état of December 1851, she remained in France, maintained an ambiguous relationship with the new regime, and negotiated pardons and reduced sentences for her friends.

George Sand had a narsisistic personality disorder and caused Cholin to die sooner than he could otherwise.. She isolated him in an iseland and broke his relation with his dear teacher., his friends and his country...She controled every move of Chopin by puting emotional presure on him manipulated him....She indirectly killed such a great composer....so pity..

She gave full autonomy, freedom and complete care to Chopin who was highly partner-dependent and jealous. The people responsible for Chopin's death are those who watched him suffer for 2 years and did not take him home to Nohant.

@@paintermezzo I dont agree with you because George Sand named called him "little Crop" wich means "little Death body" all the time. Do you thing this is good for health of a very ill person or even a healthy person? Also at the begining when he first came in France she forced him to live in the island. This was very bad for Chopin"s health and cut of him from sicial environment. Chopin gives concert make beautiful compositions and he was a very friendly man who got many good friends. He was not depended person. But George Sand cut him off from his sical environment and concert life. He could earn much more money if he stayed at Paris

@@paintermezzo She forced him to stay in her iseland instead of living in Paris. This is not giving him full authority. But instead she manipulated him to stay with her. She did not let him to see his teacher his friends she did not let him him give concerts. She forced him to only compose. But in that unhealthy windy and rainy iseland he lost his health became ill and afterall he became dependent. Narcissists always do that. They cause you to loos your health and freedome so that you become dependent on them. Nobady has a dependent personality. Everybody has a capacity to be free and support him/herself. But narcissist remove you from your power
