A big well done Kate for reaching 10K subscribers and for me you were the very first podcast i ever watched. This was about 5 years ago and led me to other podcasts and so much enjoyment and many knitting friends i have never met in person. Knitting is now my solace as i lost my husband a few months ago after a long battle with cancer. So thank you for being a friend in the room now and then. This year my aim is to let my knitting bring me comfort x

I love listening to your lovely voice, and watching you reminds me of my trip to Ireland. The warmth of the Irish people shines through in you. I knit for my grandchildren, mainly hats and baby garments. I also like knitting blankets. Right now I am knitting a twining and open work pattern reminiscent of a romantic garden arbor. For me, knitting is a kind of welcomed therapy; it has gotten me through some bumps in life’s road.

It sounds bring, but this year I’ll be knitting tank tops as it’s a gap in my wardrobe and I need that warmth over the shoulders and torso in the autumn and early spring. I tend to do more crochet than knitting but lately the knitting seems to be the one I'm doing more of....presently making a cardigan for my husband. I am only 4 months back into knitting following a 30 years break and I am in love with so many yarns. As I get older I have realised quality over quantity makes a massive difference, my old acrylic yarns have been set aside for crochet blankets to donate to dog trust. for garments I now just use natural fibres, the difference is incredible

So happy I found you on RU-vid. I have just started watching and enjoy your calm presence. I am mostly a knitter and knit shawls for my friend at church. She is now asking for baby quilts for a fundraiser event, so that is next. In the past I was a quilter and have done colonial rug hooking with strips of wool as well as needlepoint. I too was in a grand funk throughout January but now have started sewing some calendar tea towels for 2023 that were to be Christmas gifts. Slowly getting back into it. After knitting Christmas gifts that mojo slowed as well but I have a couple of WIPs that I am excited to finish and always have socks on the needles. Happy belated birthday. My son’s birthday was last week too, on the 26th. He turned 54! Hard to believe.

It's so good to see you back in the vlogosphere, Kate. I'm not a fancy knitter and haven't knitted a garment for myself in years but, bitten by the bug, I've two projects on my needles: an edge to edge l summer cardigan in cotton with lace borders, and a cable jumper in super chunky.
