In this episode we travel to the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world, Nunavut, on a supply run to CFS Alert. CFB Trenton conducts Operation BOXTOP twice a year, each spring and fall, delivering dry goods and fuel to the base in Alert. Oh, and we just happened to see some Polar Bears on our way there!

When you were reading the sign names and you were looking for your hometown, do you remember if you came across St. John's, NL?

This is an awesome video! Question: how can a US citizen ever visit CFS Alert, Canada, or get to work there on contract? Or is it impossible?

Any chance you are in the military Erik? If you are, ask around, you never know;). In terms of civilian contractors up there, I'm really not sure, I didn't have clearance to get into the buildings, lol. We dropped off our cargo, and headed back out. So much of the experience was the journey up there, I highly recommend it, if you manage to get an invite, don't pass it up!

Your chances as a US Civilian are slim to none. I happen to be one of very few American civilians who has been there, I spent almost a month there in May 2016. I'm one of maybe few dozen possibly, or more, who have been in the last 25 years. I was a DOD civilian working on a special project with the Canadians. Unless you get a job with the dod and in the right agency in a joint project that has a system at alert, you will never get to go. I feel extremely lucky and blessed that I went. It was sort of on a whim. that I got chosen by my supervisors, and honestly I was just filling in for another person. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

The end of this video, seeing your pups run to you made me cry, knowing about Evan.
