I'm thinking the jiffy mix and pepper gravy would be a good shelf stable bagged meal if you threw in a can of spam or bag of bacon pieces and one of those boxed hash browns. You could make it like a layered casserole. Maybe a bag of Velveeta cheese too.

The store my dad would shop at had a machine where you could turn in coins. There is a slot where some coins do not get counted the first time, they go in that slot. He would always look in the slot to see if people left any coins. They would sometimes. He would also check drink machine coin return slots. He kept a container at home for all the money he found in the slots and in the parking lot. Just some ideas to find your 3 cents.

That was what I was thinking, like for folks who live in a motel and only have a microwave, mini fridge, and maybe a tabletop burner for one pan/pot. Salt and pepper could be expected, but other condiments might be a struggle.

Growing up breakfast for dinner was always Thursday night dinner. Payday was Friday. Never felt poor because we always had a plate full of food. Still my favorite meal. Thank you for showing that even if you don’t have much money you can have tasty filling meals. 🤗

I'm an English mother of 5, I find your attitude refreshing and your desire to help people refreshing..I have been a vegetarian for 40+ years but I have no problem with other people eating meat etc and you feed your family with pride the best way you know how ,after all they're your kin.. life here is quite different so I watch for hints lol .. we are all human where ever we reside and this series of videos is fascinating xx

Things here in the uk 🇬🇧 are very different. Like yourself I eat a primarily vegetarian diet just because it’s easier on my stomach and I’m not particularly fond of meat. Also having moved here from Africa, a lot of the cuts of meat are different and quite hard to source. Also not many people in UK 🇬🇧 eat offal now a days. What I like about Brooke, is she doesn’t just run to the rice and beans default. I respect the fact that she doesn’t use pantry items either but still packs a flavour punch without it.

I use that sausage in spaghetti sauce instead of more expensive beef. Tastes great, and is enough for a regular sized batch. And WAAAAY cheaper.

Ohhh I love butter noodles! One lady told me to try green beans in butter noodles. I was iffy because green beans aren’t my favorite. I did it and was like dang! This really hit the spot! I was surprised!

When I was a little girl we lived in a little bittie town/village of 200 people, that had an old time grocery store and my mother would send me, being the oldest of three sisters, over numerous times to the store to buy 25 cents worth of bologna because that was all she would have. We only lived a half block from the place, plus it was back in the olden days(late 60's) when we didn't have to worry about the scary people so much! Also, when my husband's employer transferred him to Jonesboro AR, We ate a lot of fried jalapeño bologna!! It was in my husband's lunch box every day ❤

I went to Walmart yesterday to purchase a new medicine over the counter. It will be $15 out of pocket. Thank goodness it is use as needed. I also purchased my Breath Rite strips store brand they have increased by almost $1.00 since last month when I bought them. I cringed as I picked up enough for two months and thought about buying several more since I can only imagine they will increase again this year. Can we not have a law placing a ceiling on the % an item can be increased in a set amount of time or calling for say one increase a year ? This is getting crazy.

We are in Alabama and we love fried bologna. We also love fried hotdogs. I don't like hotdogs, but I do like fried hotdogs. When we do fried bologna or hotdogs we usually add some fries, eggs, and some type of bread. I do the same thing when I use packaged gravy. I buy it from Sam's Club because it will usually last about a year since we don't eat breakfast foods for breakfast very often.
