I'm so glad y'all enjoyed my call! As for taking over the podcast, I just couldn't match both of y'all. However if you need an American correspondent or a Steven Moffat impression, hit me up!
Glad y'all enjoyed my 20 seconds of Thasmin fic! To be entirely fair, I think Wild Blue Yonder is a script that any TARDIS team would be phenomenal in (probably with 6 & Peri or 7 & Ace at the top), but I think it would have been a very satisfying penultimate story for 13. Also, didn't have time to fit it into the message, but we wouldn't have had to deal with 14's clothes regenerating with him.
so happy you listened to my voice call again, and yes even though I didn't even enjoy calling him the 14th doctor I still really enjoyed his part in the specials and I think he's probably my fav doctor between 10 and 14
I feel like because ten had that whole “Time Lord Victorious” arc, he was the most human of all The Doctors. Therefore it made sense Tennant played the 14th Doctor. That face letting go of his ego is key
10:23 Chris handled the family drama aspects of his era very well, in my opinion, by focusing on Yaz's family in one episode and then giving them brief scenes in series 12 and 13, but also by having a family dynamic on the Tardis with Ryan and Graham as Steven did with Amy and Rory. Russell focused more on this than I wanted; it's not surprising given his background in soap operas, but it made the show seem too different from previous eras of the show, in my opinion. I think that Chris and Steven's approaches work better because they are able to do this without it becoming the focus of the show and detracting from the adventures in time and space too much. That being said, I would be interested in knowing if Yaz's parents would have returned before the plans for Series 13 changed because of the pandemic.
The 14th Doctor should become the Curator, then we could have a spin-off with him regenerating back through some of the 'old favourites', like Paul McGann perhaps?
i should’ve called in to say this but i only thought about it with julia’s call. there would’ve been no point in bringing david tennant back if he wasn’t at least somewhat reminiscent of the 10th doctor, so 14 can’t be too different otherwise why bring tennant back and not cast a new big name actor or something for the 3 specials.
For me I still say Matt smith is the best doctor cause I still get the same feelings seeing a picture of him in the role as I did watching the show and like David he has done other well known work since being the doctor I just feel dispite how good David is as an actor he can’t always be the safety net for the show cause at this point he is one incarnation of the doctor away from being able to do a version of the 5 doctors by himself being 4 incarnation of the doctor
