Wild Brown Trout on LRF gear has to be one of the best types of fishing! Catching 5 Brown Trout in this session takes my 2024 Tally to 36. I had a great session with ‪@DevonLerfer‬ up at Avon Dam and I hope this video shows it. The weather may have been disgusting, but we both enjoyed every second of it!

Wow - that looks like the best fun! What great fighters for such tiddlers. Gotta be a few large specimens in that dam too. Beautiful fish beautifully filmed!

Thanks. Certainly was enjoyable! I've heard there are big ones in there. But I'd happily have the little ones all day long.

Cheers Carl. We honestly weren't expecting that weather. The forecast was mostly fog. But I think being in the actual cloud meant the forecast was off. Still a great day

Channel nearly completed! Love these videos, the way you edit them is great! I've been LRF quite a few times recently and blanked every time but finally caught yesterday, a nice Whiting so my 2024 species hunt is now of the mark at one! I was using an SG3 SS hook, bit of Gulp red worm on a drop-shot rig (stolen idea from a certain channel!) off a pier, was so chuffed to be off the mark. Hopefully many more to come. Looking forward to the next video 🎣😁 I popped into my local tackle shop yesterday and asked if anyone else goes LRFing around here (North Norfolk) and he asked me what LRF was, oh dear!

I really enjoyed watching that video, it's such a special place to fish and you had some lovely marked brownies. Hats off to you both for fishing in such poor conditions. Worth it though 👍

Thanks mate. A session to remember for a few reasons haha. I'd happily go uo there again. But a nice dry 14° day preferably. Never want to be the wet again. EVER!

Cracking video, although not sure I would have braved that weather!!! I notice you stuck with the trout spoon, do you like hard plugs at all for them pls?

Many thanks I will check them out. My default lure is a mepps, but, would like to branch out and try plugs,, maybe even soft plastics.

If caught plenty on rapala and amg lures plugs. I think anything that is erratic will trigger a bite from a trout.
