On my own again and it's time to undertake the long trip from Lakes Entrance to Western Port.
We cruise extensively along the East Australian Coast on our 13 meter catamaran. Join us as we explore new cruising grounds, cross bars, fix all kinds of problems, ride out rough weather and live aboard for extended periods.
We even have a playlist that gets us on other peoples boats.
We hope that our videos encourage others to get on board and experience this fantastic lifestyle.
If you want to follow us in real time check out our Facebook page ......

If you havent had one (or two) of those "sneaky" waves come up and say "hello" you havent had enough time on the water. You did a good job, well handled.

I live in Washington, USA. I so enjoy seeing sailing adventures for the normal man. We are in the middle of our sloppy wet winter here in the Pacific Northwest. I lonely look at my boat out back under its winter cover, spring fishing is only 3 months away

Only just started watching your videos and enjoying them. I don't know much about what type and size of your boat you have but it looks well made from what I've seen so far. Anyway stay safe and enjoy. I'm in old South Wales in the UK, and we get 13m tides in Cardiff, but the water is not as clean as what you got 🤣
@MotorSailingforOldDudes
@MotorSailingforOldDudes Год назад
Yep the old girl is pretty well built. Not too flash, but does the job. Nothing like 13m tides on this coast Richard and I like the clear water. Thanks for commenting Dude.

10th generation italian fisherman takes a tinny out down south off portland chasing tuna. That hit you had is basically compares to what he sits in for 8-10hrs at a time. Think your vessel is very capable. Good luck

Lakes Entrance Bar can be unpredictable at times, as can all bar crossing, they need respect as you have crossed many in your time
@MotorSailingforOldDudes
@MotorSailingforOldDudes Год назад
For sure Allen. I guess it shows just how unpredictable they can sometimes be.Trying to get somewhere with a good weather window. A long single handed trip. Maybe another week to wait for conditions. Lots to weigh up.

A video on how the average punter achieve what you have (your boat conversion, off the shelf liveaboard options that you approve of) would have huge appeal! Enviously yours, CJO

@@MotorSailingforOldDudes Yeah Bar Croosing do that. You have to be on your game on every one. The sea is always bigger than any vessel. Still you pulled it off mate. Lessons learned. May next time your wife can be the spotter for the leads while you keep your eyes on the sea. Good on ya for taking up this life style. I'll be right behind you in a few years. Kiaoa.
