This has been a game changer for me in regard to my ideal clean tone (but with grit and some character). I run it in Tandem with Neural DSP Nolly's modified Marshall amp and get a VERY convincing Dumble sound that I'm absolutely loving. I only wish I had something exactly like this for my live rig. Can you tell me if anything what exactly this was based off of or inspired it?
Glad you like it! The look was inspired by vintage preamps, but it’s not based on a specific amp. I won’t give away the source of the neural models, but I will say that each of the four modes come from different amps.
really great and lively amp sim AND it's free, holy crap, tons of thanks for that! I occasionally have it bugging out on me when I launch it in Reaper, it doesn't output the sound properly unless I reload it are you planning on updating the plugin in any way? It would be cool if you were but I'd definitely understand if you weren't
I had noticed something like that once but wasn’t able to repeat it, if I figure out what’s causing that I’ll fix it and do an update. Does it sound like it’s not processing on one left or right channel?
@@matthijshebly Right on, I decided not to include EQ knobs because just about every DAW comes with a parametric EQ that to me is much more versatile than knobs, and you can see exactly what the EQ is doing to the signal. I took the approach with this plugin that "less is more", because other plugins do that stuff better. That's also why I didn't try and cram in Reverb, Delay, etc., because other plugins (even the free ones) do those things better than I could, so I'd rather stick to what I do well, and give the users the flexibility of integrating EpochAmp into their signal chain the way they want. That being said, some people love tons of EQ knobs and that's great! Just not what I envisioned for this particular plugin. Hope that answers your question @ErebosGR !
Excellent question, I don't! I do this for fun, sort of a passion project. I'm an aerospace engineer by trade but I've always played guitar. I have a Patreon account that a handful of very kind people donate to, and that funds just about everything I do on GuitarML.
