One major problem! That I ran into today, after close to 1 year of ownership, the printer has an internal counter of how many prints it makes. In addition, it has a "waste ink pad" cartridge inside of it. Guess what happens? When it reaches 18,000+ copies. It will not let you print, and it will give you an "ink pad lifespan" has ended message. It will literally make the printer useless and it will not print anymore. What do you have to do? Well...remove the ink pad cartridge (it's on the back of the printer, left side), open the cartridge and take out the sponges (use gloves and a screwdriver) and wash the ink off them with warm water, dry the sponges and then put them back inside the cartridge, install the cartridge back inside the printer, then go to a website to use a program to reset the internal counter inside the printer (this step is needed to reset the internal counter inside the freaking printer). You will have to pay $10 to get a "key" to reset the printer. The printer will be good after all of this. You're good for another period of printing. Till you have to do it again in the future. I'm a teacher, special ed moderate/severe, it looks like I'll be reseting my printer once a year, due to how many pages I print. Yeap...thank you epson -_- you make a great ecotank printer with a freaking catch.
Or you could simply buy a new maintenance cartridge and then there is no need to pay for a key to reset the printer as the new maintenance cartridge has a chip inside it. or spend the time taking the old cartridge to pieces and wash the sponges. They are really cheap as well the maintenance cartridges.
I've just fixed my friends printer. He explained that the tanks were empty but couldn't get them to take any ink. Bottom line is that the tanks were full not empty. Found out I could view levels if I tilted the printer backwards. I did a Power Clean but still couldn't get all heads to print. I then realised that because I too had been trying to top up the 'Full' tanks this was causing the tank tops to stay over-full and also clogged the click-down caps vent holes. I dried out all the surplus ink and did another couple of nozzle cleans and surprise surprise all was working again. In summary you need to make sure the tank vent path is clear (tank filing holes and caps) before doing a nozzle clean otherwise the ink won't be able to flow to heads. Obvious once I realised what was going on! Hope this helps.
Hi, I own the exact same printer and ran into the same issue at around the same time. I got mine to work fine. Trying to remember specifics but I ran the basic maintenance two or three times and saw some improvement but not a complete fix. Looking at the menu again for a refresher I believe I ended up doing the power cleaning. After doing this i recall a waiting period recommendation but I believe I extended it by quite a lot. I then repeated it again and that did the trick. Great videos keep them up. Thx
I have an Epson ET-2750 for past 4 years and 2 complete refills and have not had any problems. Just the usual nozzle check and clean. First printer that has lasted so long.
I did the cleaning a few times and left the printer open overnight. The day after I did the cleaning again and printed some color hole page printables. I makes book and I’m very lost if my printer don’t print absolutely perfect. I did find out that the paper have a big influence on how the quality of the print is. I got ink on and did the settings on zero after inks are refills. It prints perfect. I think my problem was because I did print in almost 14 days. I hope you all get the problem solved 🙏🙂 Blessing from Denmark 🇩🇰
Do a Power Clean. Here are the instructions to do a Power Cleaning of the nozzles. Press and hold the power button and the help button at the same time until you see the Power Cleaning screen. Follow the instructions on the LCD screen to run the Power Cleaning. When the Power Cleaning is finished, run a nozzle check
i recommend you guys to OPEN your epson printer EVERYDAY, much better use nozzle check to release the stocked ink that may dry to clogged the printer head, dont stocked your printer for a long period of time i''ve been using epson for years, about 11 years my last printer epson L120 reached about roughly more than 70k pages! for 3 years and 4 months! then i have still using L360 for 2 years and 5 months now that has also more than 70k pages printed
I have a different model - the 7700, but for reference, I have owned the printer for about 10 months now, and I'm coming up to 12000 pages printed (about 2/3 full page colour photos, the rest graphics) , and virtually all on heavyweight matt photo paper. (that equates to approx 6-7 full sets of ink bottles) I have found that in light use to moderate use, the printer runs fine and is very reliable. If you start pushing the printer past its recommended duty cycle (800 pages per month for my printer), then "care" is needed. When you do pick up a blocked nozzle - it can take several cleaning cycles to get the printer running properly. Wait at least 30min between each cleaning cycle.
Another problem could be the lack of printer use. The ink would dry up and clog the nozzle. If possible print something once per day to keep the ink in the nozzle "fresh". Power clean first if the printout is bad.
It doesn't surprise me at all, the printer manufacturers don't want us to have unlimited access to cheap printing, they just want to sell us more ink or more printers. This printer issue sounds like planned obselesence.
With canon pixma, when this happen you can just buy a print head and replace it yourself. Much more cheaper than epson. Unlike epson, you need to bring it to service shops and wait for days weeks or months.
with all brands of inkjet printers, not just epson if you print something every day the ink nozzle rarely if ever blocks, but if you only turn on an inkjet printer just a few times a week they are always going to eventually clog up. Ink is meant to dry so as soon as any ink sits in the print nozzle for too long, presto, it dries and clogs the print head nozzle. Colour laser printers are a good alternative, toner never "air dries" and you can print forever with the same set of toner cartridges even years after installing them.
Happend to my epson too! Well I just found that canon pixma has user replaceable print heads. When head cleaning don’t work anymore that is when you replace the print heads. Epson has built in print heads and only service shops can replace epson print heads and are very expensive! Thas why I switched to canon pixma, they are ink tanks too!
I haven't look at too many comments but I have the same printer, and the same thing happened to me, I had to do a power cleaning or purge not sure what it's called but you have to wait in between doing them. After about 2 days of cleaning it works like new. I've noticed that if I at least print some full-page graphics or photos about 4 of them the printer doesn't get messed up anymore.
Well that is why I switched to canon, canon pixma has user replaceable print heads. When power head cleaning dont work anymore and still see uneven colors on the print or lines, print head replacement is required. Epson has built in print heads which only service shops can replace. With canon, when this happens you can just buy another print head and replace it yourself and much more cheaper. Makes your printer last longer. Canon pixma are also ink tank printers!
Late to the topic, but this is an easy fix. Using the maintenance menu, print the nozzle check. You will likely see goo patterns printed for the black and blue but the red and maybe yellow are spots. Run the head cleaning followed by another nozzle check. If it isn't clean after the 3rd cleaning, it will instruct you to do a power clean. Leave the printer for 12 hours and it will print like new.
No, canon has user replaceable print heads. When power head cleaning dont work anymore and still see uneven colors on the print or lines, print head replacement is required. Epson has built in print heads which only service shops can replace. With canon, when this happens you can just buy another print head and replace ot yourself and much more cheaper. Makes your printer last longer.
I'm so glad I watched this just for the target ad color copying issue you discovered! This is why we are switching from a canon imageclass color laser. The reds on ours now look brown and we want colors to solid and at least close.
I just got this printer and fresh out of the box it did this. I ended up ringing epson and had to do nozzle cleans and a power clean which I couldn't understand considering it was a brand new printer. I ended up taking it back and swapping it for a new one. It did give me doubts about the printer but they're so good on ink that I am willing to give it another chance
Thank you so much for sharing because, that is how we get to help each other and learn. I have an old Epson Artisan 725 model arctic white from 2012, that still uses six ink cartridges and have never had a problem. Guess will not be upgrading to a newer Epson printer until, I have to.
The problem is user created. the print heads clog due to ink drying in them you get the same problem with cartridges when the printer is not used for a while. the lesser used colors dry up and you loose them. All printers use a small amount of each color in the black print to try to prevent drying the heads out. ink jet printers need to be used not left standing for long periods.
I have an ink tank epson. It is 4 four years old and it works great. I print about 10-20 pages everyday so the ink on the printhead does't have a chance to dry out. If you guys buy an inkjet make sure you print at least once a week on all colours. If you rarely print, buy a colour laser. It is low maintenance and works every time. However prices per page is higher.
Thanks for this thorough review of this printer. I would recommend cleaning cartridges. First with ammonia cloth underneath the heads. There is a youtube movie about it. If this won't help more thorough cleaning with the cleaning kit, which requires a bit more skills and patience. But your issue is inevitable in any ink printer used for that long with the same set of ink for the whole time. So I think I'm going to buy it anyway :-) At least this printer is quite serviceable. You have access to the heads and plumbing to them.
There are no cartridges in this printer. As I said start with a Normal Head Cleaning in the maintenance menu... then do a couple test prints. If still those bar appears do it another time before going to high pressure head cleaning. Where going on 2 years on ours and over 8000 pages and still going strong.
I have the Epson eco-tank 4760 and it does not scan properly I’ve sent it back twice now very unhappy with it and when I print or email the Print comes out very late you could hardly see it on the other end
had mine 2 years now, last time i bought an epson, will work fine for a year then the trouble starts. besides the print head drying up, the page will not center anymore especialy if you have to print 2 or three coppies,, wasted a lot of lables, next printer is gonna be a canon, they are more reliable and they are the best.
You need to perform "power cleaning" for two or three times ..... it will be in your printer settings in your computer under maintenance tab .... try it out ... it should work fine...
Seriously guys....it's blocked nozzles or clogged head. When you could take out the head, you could clear this issue in about 2 minutes.you put the head/cart with 1/2 a centimetre of warm water on a tissue. Best way to avoid this is to print something at least once a week. I had a a4 chart that had 1 inch squares of RGB and CMYB plus back. I would print that and I could see immediately what colour if any was the blockage. Of course this was with HP printers when the cart gave you a new head each time as it was all in one. You don't need to waste loads of ink every week, just make that chart with RGB CMYB print it once a week
First time owner with a 2720 for 4 months and have had nothing but Greif. It's trying to tell me I'm out of ink, Now I can't even get new ink to flow from the bottle.
It happen to my epson to and did some research and find canon pixma. With canon pixma, when this happen you can just buy a print head and replace it yourself. Much more cheaper than epson. Unlike epson, you need to bring it to service shops and wait for days weeks or months. Canon pixma are also ink tank printers!
I'm just over 18 months and mine is acting exactly the same as yours. Printer makes the print an Orange color. my total pages is 604 I am very disappointed in it's performance. This was purchased because of the ink capacity. I'm not very happy
This is a useful review at 18 months. The problem probably could be fixed relatively easy. Reading other comments suggests exactly that. Have you reached out to Epson? Just showing them your red vs yellow print is all they need. They can't deny the is a problem. Surely it is still within the warranty time and even if it isn't any respectable company would accept there is a problem. Don't go and trash the manufacturer before contacting their customer support.
My epson ET-2750 lasted 6 months (with minimal use) before the colors started to fail. For a while it would only print blue. Then I got the same lines as shown is this video. Then it worked for black and white for a while. I called a repair shop and they told me it was not worth the $100 they would charge me to look at it. If they could find the problem, which the tech said was unlikely, the cost to fix would reach almost as much as the whole printer cost in the first place. They told me how to check for something blocking the printer heads which I did and found nothing. I did all the calibrations, head cleaning etc. repeatedly with no improvement. I do not recommend this printer.

Agree 100% display is way too small! Mine starting to do the same and in my research tells me you need to ink printers quite a bit or the ink dries and will clock up the head. I hardly print so when I had this printer I had clean the head like 10 -15 times to the quality back. Now if I did not print any in 2 week, I just go ahead and clean the head keep the ink from clogging when drying. Since I don't print much *(2 years now only 1577 printer counter it stops working at 18000)* I think my next printer is going to be a Laser Printer. But doing the math ... I recently started to do more copies now and at approx. 40\month. So, 18000-1577=16,423 left over till end of life. So that basically means 410.6 months/12 = or 34.2 years. I'm 65 years old ... perhaps this is my last printer???
This looks like a nozzles issue. The trick with these inkjet printers is to print regularly in all colors to prevent the ink from drying and clogging up the nozzles. And specially true with these eco tanks whose inks are suppose to last for at least 2 years. There are nozzles cleaning kits on Amazon and a plethora of videos here on RU-vid on how to clean the nozzles.
I was thinking of getting one, could it be that you are going threw a long period without printing or doing a head cleaning and it is clogging the print heads? The company that I work for has a Epson wide format and the printer on its own does a head cleaning everyday, and sometimes 3 to 4 times a a day. The Epson wide format has a bottle that collects the wasted ink and the home or office waste tanks are in the inside and when that gets full unlike the wide format, you get a message to empty the waste tank the home & offices waste tanks get full you have to throw the printer away. So you might only a few years if you are doing allot of printing or allot of cleaning.
I got the superior 4715 Ecotank model during 2018 and now I got plenty of issues. At first I got the exact same banding shown in the video while printing in color, however I didn't mind since I print 95% of black/white pages. Then the print head got clogged somehow, I tried to inject specific cleaning fluid in it, it worked 1 hour then my printer died completely (no power). I got a refurbished sample from the seller to replace my printer according to the Epson warranty rules, but the new printer had the exact same issues, I had to clean the nozzles using the printer procedure before each printing sessions ! I can say for sure at 400€ price tag new this printer is a quality piece of garbage. Ecotank is a good concept but badly executed by Epson, all in all after 1 year and a half this printer did cost me much more than a 50 bucks printer with classical cartridges from other brands ... that sucks, I got fooled by Epson.
The problems with the eco tank models is you can not empty the tanks within 18 months and that is usually the date when the ink gets bad inside the tanks. So the question is how you can remove the old ink for fresh ink?
I have the Epson ET 2750. I cleaned the nozzles and flushed the lines. However, when I attempted to fill the ports, it does not fill. Each ink is empty. I believe I let it get too empty. When I print a test page, it only shows a few lines of blue. I tried to open the front of the printer and could not get access to the ports. Have I burned up this printer?
its only gonna last u 3yrs tops, at some point it will tell u that "cleaning pad is full of ink" and u cant DIY the replacement of the pad, it has to be done at the dealership where will cost more then brand new printer.
That's way false. Inkpad replacement is easy with 1 screw, and if your is software locked, you can get keys for £10. It also isn't after 3 years, its after the inkpad is full, which depends on usage of the printer
HI, how looks photo on glossy paper? I have same printer and hp glossy advanced paper and printed photo have not so deep colors, and black and hole photo ist bluish. on normal paper all is good
cleanning head nozzle man, during cleanning process, open the top (all top up ), use hand to move head nozzle left and right/ forward and back few time to help it clean up by contact the metal rolling with head nozzle. Self cleaning function don`t move the head nozzle so it can not complete clean.
Brand new printer on latest firmware and i can’t get it to print a full photo once i change to higher print quality. Standard works but higher settings just partial print both via usb or wifi. Like file is too big or something. No matter how big the size doesn’t change only the printer settings cause issue. Unless someone can help i sending this back. Standard just doesn’t cut it. Need higher quality and yes I played with settings (speed/quality)and did the maintenance steps its brand new.
Hi mines was showing lines only on the black then I start trying to fix it did the nozzle and everything I even did a cleaning power mode then it didn't print anything it said after I was done that it was gonna take 12hrs and that my quality will be better I did that cause now it wasn't printing nothing blank pages epson eco tanks suck thank u
You have to clean the heads like 10 times. Also i noticed the type of paper can impact the color issues. You can to mess with the settings. It has some good and bad points. Something its more of a headache. 1) it doesnt save the wifi. If theres a power outage. I have to retype everything. Its a pain. 2) doesnt print exactly like the images on the monitor. I need to mess with settings. 3) sometimes lines will show up and the "troubleshooting" is pretty useless. 4) to calibrate and maintain waste so much paper and ink Printer is better with ink but still a scam
I've got the same model and I've been trying to clear a fake paper jam error. Any suggestions on what it could be? I've completely disassembled the printer and still can't find anything that could be causing the issue.
My printer is starting to do the same. My printer has the original ink and good quality paper so I really don’t understand I’m looking forward to hear if there are some kind of solution to the problem Tina - Danmark
Ive had mine for about a year now as well and literally just print out shipping labels. I'm not sure why but its not printing the labels right it looks like its running out of ink but I just refilled black ink and it wasn't even empty but still getting same issue...
It looks like your Magenta ink is not making it to the paper. M+Y = Red... Where your scanned original is Red your copy is only Yellow, therefore the M is not printing.
This is why I only use laser because the ink heads on the printers that don’t actually replace the print head when you replace the cartridge like hp get clogged. I wish they could somehow fix this because I have used 3 ink jet printers with the design where the print head does not get replaced and on the brother canon and epson this has happened. But I really like inkjet sprinters but laser works almost as good.
Print often, even if you don't have to. The heads need to be exercised. Fluids need to move. It's kind of annoying and CAN be wasteful, but there are ways to avoid that. You have to burn through ink to save ink.
Word from the wise always buy the extra extended warranty plan with any Epson product . They always crash right before end of warranty or immediately after.
I’m observing as well. Will be noted in next review. Numbers will also speak for themselves, so we’ll see. But so far I see a noticeable drop in levels from doing all the cleanings.
im having issues within a month of having it. Literally every image I print has lines all over it. Ive called them and did all the the troubleshooting numerrrrouusss times. STILL lines all over my images. Wasted so much paper and ink! Im just going to return it at this point. No ones going to replace the ink and paper ive wasted sooo lol.
The problem you are having is most likely the print heads need a cleaning. I'm more familiar with HP ink jet printers but they basically use the same technology with differences in the ink they use. The inks are unique to each brand and often the models as well - they cannot be interchanged. In the menus of your printer there are usually Maintenance sections with Cleaning functions. They will help sometimes but often the printer head reaches the point where it needs a physical cleaning. In the old machines you put a new cartridge in and it solved this because it was a combination printhead with ink but as everyone knows they are very expensive because they include so little ink. In your case I would go on Amazon and search for a printhead cleaning kit - they run around $20 to $40. Also look on RU-vid for some printhead cleaning videos so you can get familiar with what's involved. Anybody can do it - research and learn - take your time - wear disposable gloves - work on a cardboard matt to stay clean - have some paper towels ready. Good luck.
I keep it on all the time, it has its own power save feature and is best so it remains detectable by the network. Yes, it will use a very tiny bit of power but no extra ink.
@@BartlettBlognow i wonder how it get clog, i believed that all inject printer will run an auto cleaning for print head at interval time even in sleep mode. Yes it consume ink for auto cleaning, but it prevent clog.
@@iskandarzulqarnain4521 The printer only runs when a job is printing. It may take a little longer to run that job if it hasn't cleaned itself in a bit. Therefore, I think NOT printing for certain periods of time may clogs. I did fix the issue here and will be trying some other techniques in future videos.
@@BartlettBlog I think you're onto something there. The printer stores small amounts of ink in the print heads and if left too long this ink dries up and clog the heads. Regular printing is the easiest solution.
clean the tubes inside the printer, the tubes that bring the ink in....with a syringe filled with alcohol diluted with water, google how to do it it gets messy but thats how i fixed mine when i started having the lines when printing
Probably you've got a lot of air in magenta "cartridge" on printer's printhead. Try to take this "cartridge" off the printhead and suck away the air from it via medical injection syringe (without needle of course!).
I would love to know how the printer is going now & if the lines have gone away? I was just about to purchase before coming across your video. Also, how does the automatic double sided printing go?
I was able to quickly resolve the video (link in description to resolution). Still recommendn purchasing. Duplex printing is an option, but you can shut it off through the software.
HOLD ON!! -- Before you immediately assume hardware failure, please consider updating the Drivers, and Firmware. I'm an IT guy working for a school district that has dozens of various Printers, and from experience, I can add that SOME issues can be resolved by installing a newer Driver, and sometimes updating the firmware of the Printer. A Windows update could have messed up the Printer drivers kinda thing. Worth considering before going all "Office Space" on the Printer.
Tl;dv of this video: He barley uses the printer (evidenced by the minute ink use) so as any unused inkjet does, the nossels clogged. Under normal use, this doesn't happen.
It is very easy to clear the nozzels but even better just to print a sheet with all the colours say once a week. This guy has a very low printer usage and that does give a little extra work cleaning on almost all such printers. Extreme cleaning may even kill the printer.
you may have to take the top off, take out the heads one at a time, and push pull with a syringe, then fill them with ink has it seems the heads lose ink this is what I had to do to get the heads recharged, and start to putting out the right color ink at the right pressure.
Well you save a lot on ink and printing just a letter format is great ... but if you need to do envelopes, it a pain in the ass. Printing photos are nothing to praise about. If you need to change the paper size you have to do on the printer and in the word processor, it ridicules .. I have had older printers and all you did was change it in the word processor. Using maintenance to clean the head also creates a mess, after just a few cleans. Then you need to pull the head out and do a thorough cleaning or it creates a mess inside. *I have tried many ink jets over the years, they turn to junk to quickly ... the next printer will a Lazar printer.* I no longer recommend buying ink jet printer. If it sits for a while then the ink drys and clogs up the head ...
From my experience ecotank printers are not very reliable I would not recommend them to anybody I'm on my fifth one. it's a great thing that they've all been replaced under warranty but this is getting stupid! I started with a ET-2650 and it was replaced 3 times then they upgraded me to a ET-2750 and it just died lasted 3 months I didn't even use up 1 pack of paper. I have never used up a full tank of ink ever! So at this rate, I will never have to buy a new printer but I wish I would have never picked an Epson in the first place. I just want a reliable printer one that it's not going to break down.
Stay away from these overpriced Epson Printers: they all have the same problem even after some pages printed. I bought two: I had a 2750 ( I did not even bother to make a warrant claim: I opened the window and thrown this piece of junk in the garden - not even 50 pages printed and printhead problems !) and still have a 2756 and this one has the same problems from day one ! You need to print often to avoid print quality issues. If you don't print within a week, then these problems arise. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. First use 26/07/21 and total pages 373 and 80% was bad. This is frustrating - Never again !
woah. im 9 months in with my cannon g3410 series and its so economical. but not as economical as the epson in this vid wait I just noticed i hit 1400 on the clock so i print way more....
@@BartlettBlog I am pretty fine here. I never realized I print so much you know, I taught the epson in the video is economical... it is but i remember me saying this canon is taking too much ink... never realized.... and also! my canon uses replaceable ink/print head. the black and tricolor (3 colors single print head) it uses that system. apparently canon does not openly sell their replaceable printheads like HP does. if it does break you'd have to contact cannon and show it in the shop and they will give a price quote... hmmmmm
don't buy it, I just purchased it 2 weeks ago and it started occurring many problems like two-sided selection, printing color papers, and paper jams. Unless if you want to save your money in inks and energy, then go and buy it
I'm willing to spend 300 bucks on a printer if it lasts for 2 years with no ink refills, just toss it out then buy a new one. still cheaper than cartridges
Surely not a case of printer having a problem with not-too-smart owner? Well known fact that when presenting idiot-proof stuff to US Americans, they always come up with better idiots.
