Epson ET-8500 EcoTank printer setup. Filling inks and network connections 

Looking forward to your review Keith. My only misgiving regards the ET8500 is it's not much cheaper than it's bigger A3+ ET8550. Unless space is an issue it's hard to understand why anybody would opt for this A4 only version when the difference in price between them is only about £100.

The blue tape is indeed everywhere... After installing it and thinking I could start using it, I opened the paper drawer and guess what... more blue tape.

Hi Keith! I am having such a hard time with this printer. If I use photo paper, specifically matte presentation paper from epson, or canon photo paper, the colours are rich and vibrant and beautiful. The second I swap to cardstock, the colours look faded, and instantly kills the 'professional' look, and makes it look very homemade, which is not what I want. I have seen so many people use this printer for regular colour printing, and none of them have had the same issue I have. I don't know if it's the crappy Apple driver (I saw your other video about the airprint driver, and I am definitely not using that one), or if I just need to get a windows laptop just to print on cardstock. I have tried about 50 different icc profiles, different combinations of paper type (I even tried telling it that I was printing on an envelope). I have used the epson print software that you always talk about, I have tried printing from photoshop (changing the icc profile, the colour space, and the paper type), I have tried using Affinity Photo while changing all the same things, and I've tried saving my documents as PDFs in Canva, and then trying to print to no avail. I am positive that I am overthinking this, since I seem to be the only one having this issue. Any idea why this would be happening? I have wasted so much paper and so many hours searching online just to resolve this one issue. I feel like it's holding progression in my business up and I am so frustrated! I have watched all your pertinent videos and read all the articles on your site, and I still am not able to find a resolution. Please help if you have time! Jenn

I just got this printer. While its primary use will be photos for me, I was trying to print shipping details on small mail envelopes that I use for selling cards on ebay. The issue I had was getting proportions, but further was the random input change that I seeminglt have no control of. There are three inputs for paper and I couldn’t understand why it would choose cassette 1, cassette 2, or rear input as I adjusted size settings in the printer prompt and printed again. It would just suddenly change and say no paper was installed because the envelope I placed in the printer was in a different cassette. It became a game of musical chairs. Any idea what makes the printer choose which input between cassette 1, 2, and rear?

Hi Keith I currently have the Epson XP8700 which uses Light Cyan & Light Megenta , I’m looking at getting the ET8550 , Other than ink cost, would there be a reduction in print quality by not having the additional light inks

I got this printer, connect it to my network, but it will not show up as an available printer... -_-
