the method i did when filling the epson printer with the stencil ink is that i removed the included black ink from its bottle (cleaned the bottle) and then replaced it with the stencil ink. that way you can fill it up without spilling since they are using a proprietary nozzle.
I have this exact printer and same ink, when I print, most of the image is missing. I’ve tried cleaning printer heads and power cleaning. Does this happen to you, do you have any suggestions?
Yeah this actually happened to one of the two printers. It was blurry so I clean the printer head but It actually got worse and worse until it was nearly all missing like what you're experiencing. Then I did it one more time and it fixed it completely. I had no idea what to do but that somehow worked lol.. its so unpredictable.
Hi jayrud, thank you so much of your teaching for everything. It is really helpful to understanding whole micro tattoo styles. I also tattooing, just started. I have a question about coloring with single needle and 3rl needle. Dose it use same technique when you are doing with black ink? I feels that color ink more difficult to do with micro style, cause ink is more complex than blck ink. Please any advice for me. I will be looking forward to your response. Thank you.
Yes exactly, color ink is different so I use 3RL and I am more patient and careful with it. Different techniques yeah. It is difficult but still possible. Be careful!
Hey Jason, does your stencils show up better in person that they do on youtube? Because when I watch your other vides it's too difficult to see a lot of mid tones especially on faces so I'm wondering if it just doesn't translate well on screen. Love your tattoos and video content and really appreciate you doing these!
I don't 100% rely on the stencil if that makes sense. I also use my drawing knowledge to fill in the gaps like lets say part of the stencil is blurry or like you say difficult to read. Stencils many times aren't perfect so If it's good enough I can use it. So this is where using your drawing skill and brain comes to play. We have to be more self sufficient than our tools. What if our tools don't work? we need to be clever sometimes too. If that answer doesn't help, I also use Phtososhop to help make the stencil more readable. I need to make video on this soon. I use photoshop to sharpen the image and I balance the shadows, highlights, and midtones so the details are more readable as a stencil. Even then there will be times the stencil won't be perfect so best to become reliant on yourself first. Hope it helps

Do you print your image that you want to tattoo directly from the printer or is there some sort of filter that you apply on the image before printing them out? :)
Hi Jason. It is just the M series that can be used? I'm having a hard time finding an M series available. (I just need the 1170 or 1120). Can any of the ET series work for stencil printing? I'm looking at the ET 2800. Thanks so much!
I'm sorry I'm not sure what those are exactly. I've only used the 3000s, 3170, and I've seen the 1170 used. So yes the 1170 works if thats what you're asking. It just doesn't have the scanner attached like the 3xxx's has
@@jjjaylud ok, sorry. The 1170 is called M1170, and the 1120 is M1120. I'm wondering if ANY of the EcoTank printers can be used. I can only get my hands on one that has colour options where I live. I've seen a video of someone just putting the stencil ink in all the ink compartments. But I don't want to buy something that wont work. I think though, after looking around and with your choice of printer, any of them will work.
I tried to calibrate the m1170 and It eaten my wole borów of stencil Ink. Im really sąd, because this printer ate my money…. And not printing at all. :/ Does anyone have m1170 to help me out?
Hmm I think the nozzle for the black ink bottle doesn't detach. The cap covering the nozzle detaches though. Maybe I'll go back and check to make sure. Also, Someone else recommended using one of those turkey baster things. Thats a good idea too.
