Do you think Canon printers are easier to use for the beginner or someone not as software savy? For example, I'm so use to printing from LR6 , (also have Qimage Ultimate) that i don't really like using the Canon Print Pro Studio or Qimage & really only tried them once or twice because I'm stuck liking LR for printing. So, when watching an Epson print vid, I feel that it might take a bit more to make the print.

I usually start all of my printing classes stating that printing isn't easy nor is it intuitive and it takes an investment in time and education to truly understand how to print well. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of good resources to learn how to print, thus the reason LACP offers classes and these videos. I can set up your Canon or your Epson printer to be very simple to use, or I can make it so that you know every single button and drop down menu and make it as complicated as you want. There is no art to printing. You just need to make sure you tell the printer exactly what you want it to do for the paper you want to print on. I am familiar with Qimage and I think it is a great program and is pretty simple to use. Epson Print Layout is very much what I call an "Easy Button" for printing. it gives you only what you need to print without all of the advanced features. Canon Professional Print & Layout can be set up so that it is very simple but has lots of advanced features as well. If you need help, contact me at etjoseph@freestylephoto.com.

@@ericjoseph3865 Thanks for the reply. I just find LR so easy to print from, haven't taken the time to delve in to either the Canon or Qimage software. I can see where Qimage would have some benefits for reprints/jobs & pro's plus exercising one's printer while away, etc. Just using the Pro 100 for now. Probably sell it before I move this coming year & go with something bigger after settled in. Probably settle on the 17" width like p900, p5000 or, the pro 1000. Would like to go much bigger with the satisfaction of printing one own's photo but being just a hobbyist with limited funds, I won't go much larger than printers mentioned. A while back, I checked the ink cartridge size to dollar cost. Don't remember which one but possibly the Epson P5000 was the cheapest pr ltr for purchasing the ink assuming one would print enough to outweigh the purchase price difference. Anyway, thank you foe the offer & if I get to a time where your assistance is needed, I'll contact you. Once again, thank you for replying.
