I started using my 4P hitch at the beginning of this year...game changer! I followed the included instructions and had the perfect setup the first time. 100% weight distribution and no sway!

I use the Fastway e2. Once we had it set up properly it really solidified how well the whole tow vehicle/trailer system handles on the road. I don't know that I've had any sway situations since installation, which includes A LOT of miles on interstates and highways.

Agreed, would love to have a lift for ours. We had a travel trailer a couple years ago and the hitch the dealer put on looks VERY similar to the 4-point Fastway one you show here. I hadn't done the research on weight distributing hitches yet (it was our first and a very small RV), and I'm glad the dealer we bought from selected that hitch for our package.

Just my experience. Four WD hitches over three travel trailers. The equalizer 4 point is the best, and it isn't even close.

I would like to learn more about those Fastway hitches! It looked like one of them had a built in tongue weight scale? It looked pretty windy though so maybe you weren't able to talk to their rep longer to get more information.

BTBRV I’m curious about how to set up a weight distribution hitch on my 16’ Ram Laramie 3500 Diesel Dually equipped with factory air bags. Do i connect the trailer to to the hitch, engage the alt trailer leveling system, then hook up the spring arms or? I’ve been trying to locate a video on the proper procedure but can’t seem to find one. Do you have a video n this subject? Thanks and happy new year.

I’m still lost on the concept of doing a weight distribution and airbags if you raise your truck up to hook your weight distribution up and then level out your truck The rest the way out with airbags wouldn’t it take pressure off of the weight distribution and work against each other

I'm not sure what you mean in your scenario, but typically the truck would have to come down for hitch ball trailering, or the trailer would have to adjust up for the hitch ball to be moved beneath the socket. This depends on the tow vehicle, but having hooked up to vehicles ranging from mid-size SUVs to large 1-ton pickups (all at stock ride heights), the trailer's hitch point had to be raised up before placing it on the hitch ball and then hooking up the WD bars. A truck with bags is intended to raise the pickup bed back to level rid height while towing, and for ride quality. If the trailer's hitch socket ends up at an angle toward the pavement when hooked up, either the hitch on the tow vehicle or the tow vehicle itself is too low. In rare cases maybe the trailer socket is too high, but that shouldn't be the case on a stock trailer. In a case like these, though, the WD bars likely would not be usable due to the angle of the trailer's frame.

@@SurelyYewJest Apologize for the misunderstanding so I have a 2500 GMC with a 37 foot travel trailer weighing 10,000 pounds I have the weight distribution and sway bar now which I love I was thinking about adding airbags just for whenever I go over bridges after the weight distribution bars are set up on my truck it only drops it down about an inch and what I was asking was if I put airbags on my truck raised up just at inch to make it completely level and for the convenience of a good ride of airbags wouldn’t that take the pressure off of my weight distribution or would I have to reset that to a different level

@@0707moto No problem. That is an interesting question. The hitch will already account for some play because even without airbags, there will be some amount of spherical rotation when driving over expansion joints on bridges, poor quality roads, etc. I can't see an inch having much effect if any. The best way to test would be to hook up, leave it low and try to move the WD bars to check for play. Then raise up the 1 inch and try again. If there's play up high I think that would be more of a setup issue than something related to the truck. I'm not an expert though so if you have a hitch install or trailer shop near you I'd ask them.

With these new hitches, WD bars, do you have a video on how to install, calibrate, and explain the different ways to properly set up a WD hitch? I cannot seem to find one (unless i am missing it somewhere).

I'd cut one if we still had a TT. The trick though is, once the trailer is on the hitch ball, lower down to the level point with the tow vehicle. That point will be where you can lever the WD bars onto the L brackets without major effort. If it's taking a lot of effort, you're either too high or too low. Although, it will be obvious if you're too low. If you can put the WD bars on with only hand-arm effort, that's also bad because, even when they're locked in place, they won't be doing anything. The bottom face of the WD bars should be flush with the L brackets' surface. Once you've done that, hook safety chains, braking and lights test, and you should be good to go.

@@SurelyYewJest I'm sure there are hd floor jack kits that would work on rv frames. But those columns lift equally much safer and less stress on rv.

I have been using the e2 Fastway Round bar WDH for over 4yrs and have been liking it so far. Easy to setup and adjust. My dad uses the equalizer WDH and had had zero issues with it. I think both are great products
