When I started showing in the 1980s a buck in the gallop was no sin and only really something to drop down if it was a 12.2 or 13.2 show pony. Even a 14.2 was forgiven a high spirited kick. The view for many years was a high spirited buck in a high bred show horse is not a crime and only a factor if two equal horses are compared, and that way of going can be improved but conformation and type cannot. It is only in recent years that everything has to be a clockwork mouse. The judge looked to be of an older generation and so probably taken the view in a class of green horses that the way of going can be improved but type and conformation is what it is and placed to her values on conformation and type......
@@user-ib6ej4xv7y you might be right there but Donny is incredibly true to type with masses of bone and beautiful confirmation. But surely a horse that won’t even canter should be dropped. They should be hunt like and look like they could hunt all day . .
@@misscooper-showponies1220 you are right, he is gorgeous but as you said that is showing for you 😞 I've sat below horses with massive windfalls in rihs classes on an animal with perfect limbs and got told by the judge that mine had given the best ride of the day and was very hard to fault so go figure!!!
